The newest blight on the boardwalk? Underemployed gangsters who have to mug people just to make ends meet. Fortunately, this is no problem for our dynamic love birds because their souls are on fire, so that gangster with the gun loaded with bullets just better watch out!

Wow- Yahoonski totally called this yesterday...
"This would be the perfect time for a mugging." Nice work! And yep, Wanders - definitely an underemployed gangster, or even a moonlighting white collar criminal. He certainly is well dressed.
Typical Mary Worth mugger. 50 years old, male, wearing a suit. Left-hander carrying old-time revolver given to him by his grandfather.
And could Terry and Adam look any happier being mugged?
Yup, from my lips to Moy's ears. Unless of course this turns out not to be a typical mugging, but merely the waiter from Marina Royale trying to collect the bill they walked out without paying. Worse yet they stiffed him on the tip even after he was nice enough to reseat them at numerous different tables during the course of their meal. He truly was a patient man.
Be still my heart! Did something actually just HAPPEN?
Oh, please, please, can we have another synchronized kung fu panel?
Rarely do we get so much richness in a Sunday Summary strip. The non sequitur quote from Marshal Foch, the smug looks on Adam and Terry when confronted by the nattily dressed mugger. And the mugger himself. At least now we know what happened to Don Draper after he created that Coke commercial.
Uh-oh. Adam masculinity will be threatened by Terry going a full Emma Peel on the mugger. And the phallic implications of Adam's cane will become more evident as he is proven to be less a man.
Finally, something is happening! All these weeks of indecision have led to a showdown that shows they are still a team.
Nah... I predict that Adam will be killed. I think Terry's going to find her skills aren't quite what they used to be - 8 years sitting at a desk have taken their toll. Then we can have six months of her weeping to Mary that she wasted her last few months (and ours) with Adam, dragging out this painfully boring trial period.
@fauxprof at 10:08 a.m., I love the Don Draper reference. Now we need @Peggy Olson to comment.
This pair may be aging, but their training must not have stagnated a jot in 8+ years. I can't wait for tomorrow when Terry whips off the lower portion of her dress to reveal her hot pants, and Adam uses his cane a la John Steed and his brolly. (Speaking of Steed, R.I.P. Patrick Macnee.)
A better Ferdinand Foch quote: My center is giving way, my right is in retreat; situation excellent. I shall attack.
Wanders, I need help from you and my fellow Mary Worth aficionados!
My local paper, UT San Diego, is surveying readers to determine which comic strips to keep and which to jettison. It is a quick, simple survey at utsandiego.com/comics-survey
Just check off Mary Worth as one of the comics to keep (you can choose up to 10, but one choice is fine); then, check off one or more of the comics to ditch (my suggestion? Family Circle)
If you could feature a reminder about this in your next blog entry I'd be super grateful. Not everyone who has posted already goes back and checks on new comments at the end of the day. It isn't clear when the survey closes, but I think it's very soon. Please vote now!
I'd really appreciate it!
Oh boy, now there's been an actual plot twist. This means this storyline will go on ad infinitum.
YES! Just what we've all been waiting for! Come on, Terry ... KARATE CHOP!!!
Hmmm ... before the mugger appeared, I was expecting Adam--who is jobless and has not been in touch with Terry for eight years but all of sudden, just moves into her apt. building and getting all clingy and lovey-dovey--I was expecting Adam to say, "I can only ask you to trust me, and let me prove my worthiness to you! Give me bank account number and your online banking password, and I'll prove to you how worthy I am!"
Wait...maybe Adam hired the mugger to rob Terry? Wow! This strip is AMAZING!
@Sandi Ego
Ballot box stuffed from your colleague in Akron. Glad to vote to keep MW and dump the no neck monsters of Family Circus. (Not to mention Marmaduke. Fifty years, one joke: "Gee, what a big dog!")
@fauxprof at 6:51 a.m., Marmaduke's on my hit list too. @Sandi Ego, I'm glad to help.
What would be boffo in tomorrow's MW: Terry grabs Adam's cane to attack Mr. Sinister (that IS why he's a leftie, right?) and accidentally knocks Adam into Santa Royale Bay. Glut glug, thrash thrash.
