Mary Worth 2159

Toby, you're better off with him because he has the money card.

Where is everybody? A whole day without comments? Isn't anybody else wondering if perhaps the popcorn has spontaneously combusted and Mary and Toby have formed a bucket brigade of water-filled coffee cups to extinguish it.

I'm here! I also think this storyline is fantastic!!!!

Mary's passive-agressive comment of the day:
"There, there, dear. I know it's hard, but we can't be the center of the universe for everybody all of the time, now, can we? ... Well, wait a minute, ... I can, but other people can't."

I'm here, Yahoonski! I was just choking over popcorn and coffee, couldn't respond in a timely manner!

She'll need the money card for the surgery to straighten out her eyes.....

Well said, Elaine! I was just about to say that Toby said she was "focusing on the bad", but in reality, given the way her eyes look in panel two, she was just plain focusing bad :)

The floor and countertop in Mary's kitchen are excruciatingly shiny today.

In general, I find Mary's kitchen one of the most unsettling spaces in the universe; the binding sheen today is just a variation on the usual constant morphing of counters and cabinets.

What is up with the water in Santa Royale?? It hangs over the dishes as if it just sprang from the set of "The Blob"...Yikes. Surprised M Giella isn't drawing bottled water for them. OK...I am trying desperately to find something else to comment on besides thanks, Mary Worth, for another uninformed opinion on someone else's personal life. .. Just because you "admire" what you THINK Toby and Ian have doesn't mean they really have it. Oops! Forgot these are one dimensional characters in more ways than one.

Sunday...and another marginally promising storyline develops a slow leak and deflates. We don't even get one of Moy's "inspiring" quotes in the buy-a-print panels. My only hope is that next week we have a Halloween pool party, Ian invites Hilton Berkes, and the whole situation reignites.

BORING!!!! BORING!!! What a let-down! Until Toby opens the door to go home tomorrow morning and sees Hilton Berkes doing the walk of shame...

Mary's passive-aggressive comment of the day:
"There, there, dear. Don't walk away from something great! Now, march right back into my guest room and make up the bed and pack your things! You're not getting any younger, and with your stimulating 'personality' and variety of 'skills,' no one other than Ian is going to marry you, and you couldn't possibly get a job and strike out on your own ... Oh, whew! She's already in the bedroom packing up. I'm glad, since I was getting more aggressive than passive-aggressive!"

This could get exciting; Toby goes home and Ian is still the same. She'll have nowhere to run as Mary has secretly hightailed it out of town to see an old friend. There's a ton of potential in this story.
