Mary Worth 2182

This cross-over story is as pointless as actually getting to know someone you are sharing a cab with in Manhattan.

Today's full strip

"I'm looking at the Briarson School as a prospective." That is an unusual way of speaking.

Hello? Did we also travel back in time? Where the heck are this car's head rests? One little fender bender, and they'll all walk around with neck braces.
Also, I'm no expert on turban-related issues, but is it customary for men to have long hair cascading from them?

Prospective what? Place to study? Place to demonstrate? Place to sell drugs?

As for what her daddy does for a living, he's actually a lot like Mary: he meddles, only with fists, guns, and a wolf.

Looking at the Phantom strip today, I see the cab driver is suddenly wearing John Lennon's eyeglasses... I fear this "crossover" is going to end with Heloise just getting out of the cab uptown and little else....So much for exciting possibilities involving the Phantom... Don't think MW's sensibilities could really interact with the Superhero ambiance of the Phantom....Or maybe little Olive is about to become the next HitGirl....

@Schmoopie at 10:18 a.m., Mary removed the headrests (which looked like mailboxes, BTW) so she can keep a closer eye on the driver.

With today's dialogue, KM has hit 11 on the 10-point Scale of Stilted and Nonsensical Dialogue.

To quote my inner preschooler: "I'm boooored! Are we there yet? My tummy hurts!"

What happened to the fact that the cab driver was sending a text message? Was that just a Plot Device to introduce Miss Double-Fare? Couldn't she have still have been standing directly in the line of traffic anyway or still have naively approached his cab?

I suppose that was KM's attempt at relevance in this "storyline."
