Chester the Dog - Mary's hairy gloves have been removed. Yet, she still holds her hot drink. Now that's some legerdemain! Next up:

It's Valentine's Day, yet there is no floating head of Doctor Jeff emanating from Mary's cup. So, so sad.

Wanders, your "secret message" is incorrect! I see a gray couple out there cavorting with the white folks.

Mary has a serious case of man-hands in the last panel! (See Seinfeld, "The Bizarro Jerry" episode).

When I was about Olive's age I spilled scalding hot cocoa on my hand while wearing knit gloves. It made the burn worse because I couldn't get the glove off quickly. I had a humongous bubble of a blister right between my thumb and first finger.
I share this cautionary anecdote with you to make this story more real. That child is wearing gloves and holding a hot drink which could escape its boundaries. Boundaries, free will, pratfalls on ice. What will the end game be?
