Mary Worth 2274

"No, Mary, I don't want to talk to you. I want to talk to kids my own age. That's why I came over here... to tell you I don't want to talk to you."

The alarming shift in perspective has curdled Mary's tea.

We always knew that Mary would eventually go full slitheen.

"How's school? How are your grades?" Mary's working from the same list of questions she could ask Olive. Hey Teacher Mary, there's a problem here!

Maybe Dawn will suggest that Dawn volunteer at Mountview Hospital...oops, been there done that. What happened to One-Armed Jim?

Dawn is back and wearing purple! Wilbur and sandwiches are soon to follow -- and maybe a pool party. It's been so very long.

How ironic. After endless talk about Mary's skill as a butt-in-sky, her next mission is Dawn. Yes, the eternal teenager should spend more time with elderly Mary. Oh, just imagine the angst and thought balloons in the weeks/months ahead!

Oops, I meant maybe Mary will suggest that Dawn volunteer.

Wasn't Dawn addicted to texting at one time? Who was she texting if not her friends (like Jim)? Was she just randomly texting made-up phone numbers to see if someone would respond? Maybe Dawn could make some new friends with ChatRoulette?

Mary knows that Dawn likes her tea chunky.

The first rule of advice-giving is "Be a good listener"....Since Jeff pumped up Mary's ego regarding her abilities, she appears to see only that SHE is the solution to everyone's problems...
No friends? Go talk with Mary Worth! Feeling depressed? Throw away those anti-depressants. Just go talk to Mary Worth! Think you might have ebola? Skip the emergency room! Go talk with Mary Worth!!

It's a mystery to me why Dawn Weston struggles to relate to her peers. Her looks, attire, and behavior seem typical of any Millennial.

Of course her grades are good. By this time she's taken every course the University offers and has started over again. She's accumulated thousands of credit hours and has yet to declare a major, let alone apply for graduation.

How did Dawn know to go to Mary for advice?

Um.... what happened to Jim? You know, her boyfriend whom she hangs out with and "talks to"?

Is there a tempest in that teacup? Maybe the big quake is happening and the ensuing tsunami will take them all out.

SIS!!! You're back! You must be hard up for friends if you're going to Mary for advice! Of course, this all proves Mary's point about people seeking her out for advice. Apparently, it really does happen.

This calls for Ex-Teacher Mary Worth to apply for a job at Dawn's College. That way, she can not only teach Psychology, but she can also Observe Interactions and see why students there are so lonely.

She can organize a Chapter of Students Together!, her National Organization founded years ago in New York where she began her Teaching Career.

This will take us into September.

So Mary is drawing a parallel between elementary-school-age (and tummy-brained oddball) Olive and perpetual college student Dawn (who must be pushing at least 35). Maybe Mary can introduce them to each other by the Worthiverse version of Skype. When Olive visits Mary during her endless summer break (the Tee-Hee Twosome can't wait for that!), just picture the fun those three will have together.

There's no need for Mary to suggest Dawn visit the university counseling center. Who needs that when Mary Worth is available?
