Mary Worth 2293

I know the last panel is the money panel in today's strip, but most of our readers don't have access to the splash panels on Sunday and I wanted to share. This is the first time I remember seeing this view of Local University. It really is breathtaking with its mountain peaks towering over the dramatic Santa Royale skyline. And apparently, this is just the gymnasium!

Keep it clean, you say? Family friendly, you say? Even as Dawn Weston shamelessly stalks her prey? Doesn't Karen Moy know that colleges across the country are working feverishly to make sure that nothing like the Jones/Weston (not to be confused with Roller Derby queen Joan Weston) liaison ever comes to pass? This is the most amateurish and revolting plot line that Moy has dreamed up yet, and I'm sure your readers understand what an indictment that is.

DCN, I loved watching Roller Derby queen Joanie Weston on TV when I was a kid. If only Joanie was a dean at the university. She's knock some sense into both Harlan and Dawn.

This storyline is definitely headed toward dangerous territory -- in legal and icky terms. How old is Moy? She's writing for a 50s True Story mag, where the girl is always at fault for an older man's "natural instincts."

Thanks to Wanders. Your humor and insight will help us through this sordid tale!

Is there a chance that KM is using this plot line to make a statement against professor-student personal relationships? Will Dawn learn a tough lesson? Or is this plot actually going to go down the road it appears to be on? As a college prof I'm a bit unconformable with the last several days of the Dawn-tries-new-things-in-college story line.

Practice "yoga" at his home? Is that what they're calling it these days? And what do you want to bet that he's only got one mat?

I can only think that KM is actually prepping us for a reveal that will broaden the horizon's of Santa Royale - Dawn is going to run over to Harlan's, only to have the door be opened by Jon Jonsington, the professor's longtime companion.

Since Dawn needed Mary to tell her that college was a place for learning, it's a good thing the instructor tells her to breathe out today.

Could this really be a Ted Confey story line where Harlan is really just out to steal Dawn's money? Or will Mary meddle enough to get Dawn to ditch Harlan and find another interest, like hiking.

Thanks for the splash screen Wanders, who know Local University had such magnificent architecture.

Muscato - your Jon Jonsington conjecture is genius.

I have been racking my brain thinking about all of the intricacies of the latest Mary Worth "plot"! It's so FASCINATING!!! Anyway, the fact that Dawn (my dim sis) dismissed the student-run hiking club, complete with cute student asking her to join, in favor of going to a public yoga class with her art history professor and then agreeing to go to his home (!!! ... Wha...???!!!!) to do "yoga" with him, simply demonstrates Dawn Weston's bad judgment! Where's Mary when you need her?

I think we're going to see Dawn, having misinterpreted Harlan's "kindness" for romantic interest, making a fool of herself by showing up on his doorstep and throwing herself into his arms. Shocked and angry, Harlan will tell her to go "take a hike" at which point Dawn will run, hither and yon, through the halls of University searching for hiker dude James and his reliable folding table.

Dawn will show up at Harlan's house, in a misty, romantic state of yoga-fueled inspiration. She will be warmly greeted by Mrs Harlan (1950s house dress with pearls and a frilly apron) and the little Harlans (Bud and Betty). They will all do yoga together, followed by raisin-Kelk muffins. Dawn will go home, curl up on the orange couch and binge-watch Game of Thrones from episode one. Life is brutal, but better than any of the creepy real world scenarios we are anticipating.

If I read that Dawn is inspired one more time, I'll puke.

This is so, so creepy. The guy is old enough to be her father! And he's her profesor. What is KM trying to do--gross us out?

This plot reminds me a lot of an episode several years ago where this woman was having a marital spat and decided to try new things, like Dawn. She ended up being invited to Charley's bachelor pad and he tried to seduce her in his den of iniquity. Luckily she had the moral rectitude to reject him and get back with hubby. Dawn's problem is that she has no one to get back with after that Lothario makes his passion play. Hey, maybe her previous boyfriend Dave has broken up! Life is brutal.
