Mary Worth 2295

"Yeah, it's a big, private place. Hey, Dawn, how'd you like to earn a little extra money for school? I'm looking for a house cleaner. And someone to walk Alfie for me."

Here's an article on the sordid life of male yoga instructors, just in case you can't get enough of this type of thing.

Alfie is probably a cockatiel or a Jack Russel Terrier, but wouldn't it be great if we were about to meet the Worthiverse's first gay couple?

Well, I'm going to hear Dionne Warwicke singing in my head all day.

"Welcome to my humble abode"? More of KM's scintillating dialogue.

I'm guessing Alfie is a yappy little pooch, but I wish @fauxprof's suggestion pans out.

I think I called this a day or two ago: definitely a Significant Other. The little moustache was a giveaway; I'm only surprised Professor Harlan wasn't also wearing a polo shirt with the collar turned up and Levi's 501s - Moy's cultural references do mostly seem to date from about 1978...

Mary will have, at some point, have a concerned but understanding thing or two to say...

I'm kind of hoping it's our furry little friend Gordon Shumway from the planet Melmac, who was an Alien Life Form and thus called ALF.

Alfie is far too Cutesy of a name for the First Gay Male Character in this comic. I'm guessing Alfie, if not a dog, is Harlan Jones' kid.

Harlan has now Age-Regressed even further to be about 21 or 22. By the time he gets to the door, Dawn will have been brought there to be his AND Alfie's babysitter.

I say Alfie is a robot. Just one of Harlan's many amazing inventions that Dawn will see throughout his mansion.

My guess, and hope, is a slightly redrawn version of little Gordon Dingdon. With his '80's-era handheld video game.

And once again, the question recurs: what's it all about? Alfie?

Following Fauxprof's comment, Alfie could be Harlan's disabled but ruggedly independent child or other relative, which would, I think, also prove a first for MW.

Wearing an eye patch.....

And a fork with a cork on it.

Is it my imagination, or is Harlan looking more androgynous now that he's home -- despite his mustache's recent growth spurt?

Harlan kind of looks like the cowboy from the original Village People. Just sayin'. Maybe "Alfie" is Ian's chia jacket. Short for alfalfa.
