Healthline lists these symptoms of Vicodin withdrawal: anxiety and agitation, yawning, runny nose, insomnia, sweating, and muscle aches, and more serious symptoms including cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Karen Moy must have tossed in the part about chills and headache. Maybe Iris is checking for a runny nose.
I', trying to decipher the title of Iris's book - "History of Coffee"? Anyone else have an idea?
I loved and miss Joe Giella, but I'm loving June Brigman's art today!
Question: Why is Tommy sleeping on the couch when it's already been established that they have moved and he has his own bedroom and bed?
Comment #1: Tommy looks "awful"?!? I think he looks totally HOT! (Tommy, DAWN will really dig you!)
Comment #2: I think that Iris is reading a "History of Hope," which is why she's hoping for flu rather than drug withdrawal. Iris has only read the first few chapters, so she hasn't gotten to the part where it says that she and Tommy are hopeless.
Snark: Hmmm, chills, headache, nausea ... and Iris thinks of flu?!? How are these people so clueless? Tommy is obviously suffering from ... syphilis! (Tommy, I'd be happy to set you up with my twin sister DAWN! She's really into guys like you.)
Love how karen Moy has to point out in print that Tommy is suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Clearly she sees that she has a responsibility to her readers to educate us about topical issues like opiate addiction. For my part I want Tommy to go all the way to heroin, which he might do...Then I'd like to see Iris getting a prescription for naloxone, the overdose intervention...Let's have some REAL drug education here!! I want to see how our new illustrater draws projectile vomiting...
This new artwork is quite a change! Proper shading, chin stubble, and Iris's hand in an anatomically correct position. It's like going from an old tube-style TV to an HD flat screen!
I can't wait to see Toby, Ian and Dawn (and Dawm).

A mother's pinkie brushing the bridge of an adult son's nose is always comforting and certainly the best diagnosis indicator ever!
It's not a Joe Giella hand, but it's not...quite...right. Congratulations, June, you're getting there.
Iris certainly isn't majoring in Pharmacy at Local College, or common sense parenting.

I believe the book is titled History of the Gaffe. The subtitle is Uncle Joes Best Blunders.
Are those...ANTS...on his chin?
Withdrawal symptoms? Really, Moy? After what was likely 6 to 18 pills? This is modern day Reefer Madness.
