Mary Worth 2402

Federal law requires pharmaceutical advertising to list side effects, so to protect the Syndicate, here's a list from the magical makers of Suboxone:

Possible side effects of SUBOXONE Film
SUBOXONE Film may not be right for everybody. SUBOXONE Film can cause serious side effects, including:
  • Respiratory problems. You have a higher risk of death and coma if you take SUBOXONE Film with other medicines, such as benzodiazepines
  • Sleepiness, dizziness, and problems with coordination
  • Dependency or abuse
  • Liver problems. Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these signs of liver problems: Your skin or the white part of your eyes turning yellow (jaundice), urine turning dark, stools turning light in color, you have less of an appetite, or you have stomach (abdominal) pain or nausea. Your doctor should do tests before you start taking and while you take SUBOXONE Film
  • Allergic reaction. You may have a rash, hives, swelling of the face, wheezing, or a loss of blood pressure and consciousness. Call a doctor or get emergency help right away
  • Opioid withdrawal. This can include: shaking, sweating more than normal, feeling hot or cold more than normal, runny nose, watery eyes, goose bumps, diarrhea, vomiting, and muscle aches. Tell your doctor if you develop any of these symptoms
  • Decrease in blood pressure. You may feel dizzy if you get up too fast from sitting or lying down
Tell your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.
These are not all the possible side effects of SUBOXONE Film. For more information, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Aren't those the same possible side effects of Mary's meddling?

Has Santa Royale had earth tremors recently? There's a massive crack in the Doctor's plate glass window. On another note, Tommy is already experiencing side effects to something. He has a pointy hornlike thing growing out of his head. (Ignoring the story line, concentrating on the artwork. Thank you, June.)

Doc: "It'll also help reduce withdrawal symptoms."
Tommy: "And Doc...I need help dealing with withdrawal."
Doc: "What'd I just say?"

Today's strip has inspired me! As of today, my goal is to also be off all pills someday!

Good bye blood pressure meds and statins. I have been taking you daily for years but starting now I will tear off those shackles!

It's still cool to play around with needles though, right? Asking for a friend...

Thanks for posting the side effects of Suboxone, Wanders. However, I can hear Dr. Leone (Karen Moy) reply, "Side effects, shmide effects, let's not get into that."

Maybe the next president should appoint Dr. Leone as "drug czar." He sure has the answers! (It remains to be seen what effect Suboxone will have on Tommy's hair.)

Does anyone but me remember when this blog used to be fun? Funny? Lately, it's been more fun to read the news than it is to come here. New Worthy Award category: most depressing story line EVER. Come on, Moy, can't we move on to another silly Toby or Wilbur story?

Touche' to Anonymous in posts #1 and 6! I thought the FDA listing was a rather complete description of my symptoms wading daily through this latest MW-Beedie-Vicodin story line. I probably sound like a grouch because we all seem to be giving up one not-very-funny MW plot line for another. Or may I suggest a strip title mod: "Mary Worth's New Afterschool Specials"

Tommy, darling ... wha??? Why do you look so haggard? I don't get it! It hasn't been made clear in the strip at all.

And Iris looks stressed. Poor Iris!

I think Dawn has moved on to better things. ... Maybe we could see that?

Today Tommy is smiling at the thought of going to NA meetings. Can this get any more surreal?

Iris is planning to go to all Tommy's therapy sessions as well as his Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Now there's a sure fire recipe for success. Tommy is going to get all the mothering Mary recommended and more!

dissociative identity disorder causes most frequently have their onset in childhood, when personal identity is still developing, although the disorder may also materialize in adulthood after a traumatic event. In order to avoid retraumatization visit Dr Arceo Psychiatric Services.
