Mary Worth 2452

Of course, none of us can blame Wilbur for running away from his life. But I get the feeling that something far more devious is up his sleeve. I believe Wilbur has found a way to extract himself from the Worthiverse and access the real world. Of course, he has to cloak his language to ensure the King Features Syndicate doesn't suspect anything. If the Syndicate starts to believe he could extract himself, they will have no recourse but to take punitive measures, like killing him off, or worse, marrying him to Iris. Parse his language carefully over the next few weeks. He may be sending us secret messages, seeking support and asylum.

"Over the next few weeks"? Oh, Dear Wanders, do you foresee this whiny, no-compromise argument going on and on? You're right, of course. We're in for a long siege of pointlessness, and will have to trust to June's disappearing noses and eyeballs to keep our interest.

Who will pay Dawns tuition?

Wanders, you're on to something. I've been wondering why Wilbur returned from Japan with those blue-tinted lenses. Now we know that they're connected with Wilbur's new power of extraction! It's sort of a reverse Clark Kent -> Superman.

What is this newspaper that Wilbur writes for that can afford to send a writer away for a whole year?

Why wouldn't Wilbur want to run from his life? He lives at Charterstone and his girlfriend has an adult ex-convict son she treats like a baby. Bleh. Run away!

Iris, I've got an idea. Run home right now, Tommie has got some relief for you. "Leftover medicine". We readers can be treated to five weeks of a handy plot reversal in which Tommie helps you recover. In fact, given that drawn-Iris so closely resembles drawn-Tommie, only the words in the text bubbles needs to be cut and pasted. You'll probably even be able to get a quicker appointment with the doctor and the pharmacy addresses are already stored in your Waze app! What could be more convenient?!

Hmmm...Tuesday, Wilbur was saying he HAD to take the travelling work, but Chrissy pointed out that he had a choice, that he didn't HAVE to take it. Today Wilbur is saying he has a CHOICE to go for this adventure...Secret code indeed. It looks as if maybe Karen Moy reads our comments after all.

Who are Iris and Wilbur talking to? They're both looking in the same direction.

Don't judge me Iris.

I saw things in Japan that you couldn't even imagine. Have you ever had wasabi on a sandwich? I didn't think so. Did you know they call Kelk Kalk over there? I didn't think so. Did you know you can find a karioke bar that serves Splak 24 hours a day?

And now I've suckered the paper into paying for my gluttonous sandwich world tour. I get Giddy when I think of all the different sandwiches I'll stuff in my face from around the world. And the paper thinks this is about survivor stories.

Survivor stories, are you kidding me? I'm the survivor here. I'm leaving the slow motion train wreck of you, Tommy and Dawn behind.
