Mary Worth 2514

I find it quite appropriate that Iris and Zak have chosen as their "usual place" the most uncomfortable bench in town.

June gives us a cornucopia of interest to contrast with the drab dullness of the story. Who cares if Iris breaks up with Zak when we can marvel at her frilly party dress paired with the trendy ankle boots? Will the fit young joggers mow down the dumpy old lady and her little dog? And whoa! Is that a fountain or an euption of Old Faithful?

I think the person "walking the dog" is actually Wilbur, waiting to surprise Iris. When he overhears her conversation with Zak, he becomes angry and jealous, and....

Never mind. Forgot this was Mary Worth.

Meet me on the bench next to the statue of Mary's famous stacked cupcakes.

Even by Zak's minimal standards of grooming, he's looking particularly unkempt today. He's veering into Tommy Beedie territory.

Fasten your seat belts, everyone, and prepare for excruciating dialogue ahead as Iris explains why she must part from Boy Toy (even though she just told him she loves him). Sob! Wince!

I hope Mary and her pruning shears are hiding in the bushes behind Iris, preparing to snoop.

Wendy: Dear Confused, accept the exciting, new, temporary job, work there a week or two, and then quit for no particularly good reason. You might not have the old job to go back to, but so what? Good luck.

That is one narrow, tough to navigate path around the fountain. The entire park must have been designed by the landscape architecture students at Santa Royale University!

That is some physics-defying fountain, there. The water goes up but it doesn't come down!

You got that right, sister! Zak is a successful graduate student making progress toward his degree, and you're just taking a class here and there, never studying, making no progress whatsoever. You've only ever passed the classes you took with your stepdaughter-to-be Dawn ... because you cheated off of her on the test!
