Mary Worth 2529

I can't tell you how excited I am to try the blobs at New Diner!

I hope they run into Zak there. To paraphrase Chris Farley, that would be awesome!

I suggest a new name for this strip, since it no longer showcases Mary Worth. Beedie Bytes, perhaps?

Wouldn't it be great if the Beedies run into Tina Baby and Zak eating and making goo-goo eyes at each other at New Diner on the Boardwalk?! Please please please let it be so!

Maybe the new diner will need a janitor.

Why eat out when there's a box of OAT sitting on the counter?

I hated where this story line was going, but I love the drama of the boardwalk. I can't wait to see Diner II.

Will New Diner have a similar menu to Diner? Is rainbow swirl ice cream available there or do they specialize in Nouvelle Diner Cuisine? Tommy should be less apathetic, because how often do you get a chance to experience New Diner dining?

But will they get mugged? And will the mugger be someone from Tommy's past?

I am with KitKat on this one. Sadly, however, I think it will just be Tina.

So, the upshot is ... Iris isn't allowed to have a sex life. She only gets to be a mother, even though her son is an adult. And Mary made her feel bad for spending too much time at college and not enough time with Tommy. ... I am displeased!

On the other hand, Bible-based therapy (whose suggestion was that again?) seems to be failing poor old Tommy. I hope he can get back on the right track. Maybe he needs a Wilbur in his life as a role model. Zak would not have been able to play that role.

The Bum Boat has new competition huh. I think New Diner will go up in flames soon.

With any luck, Mr. Alora will move a new tenant into the Beedie flat whilst they're away.

"Tenant" can also be used synonymously in this case with "protagonist", "meddle-ee", or "future background of a clown painting."

Any good plot transition involves Mr. Alora or a pool party. Taking Tommy to the dinner to expose him to a new job opportunity or to get food poisoning so he needs to be hospitalized are not good plot transitions (though a hospital visit could leave Tommy hooked up to a hi-fi, always a thrilling panel).

Probably nothing will happen at New Diner, since it is a situation fraught with potential for drama. Just like Dawn Weston's Non-Confrontation Scene with Iris, even if Tina or Wilbur were at New Diner, it would be nothing more than a fizzle.

PANEL ONE
Tommy and Iris are sitting in a booth at New Diner.

Iris: Tommy. Look over there. Isn't that Tina?
Tommy: Uh, maybe.

NEXT PANEL
Tina-looking young lady with young man and baby in infant seat, just leaving.

Man: Tina, our son looks just like you!

LAST PANEL
Iris head in close-up.

Iris: See, Tommy! The future can be bright.
