Nance, maybe that's not an error but the way Jeff really speaks. He's more clueless than Toby, which is really saying something. Can you imagine anyone ever seeking medical expertise from this guy? Maybe Ted Miller sold him his "medical degree." Jeff isn't asking any questions about a business plan for Mary Muffins and all those other pesky details.
Mary is channeling her inner Wilbur in that she keeps ignoring a blindingly obvious red flag warning her to get out of this relationship. Ted is Fabiana redux.
I guess it come from being so immersed in rosy platitudes.
Thanks, Nance. Apparently Jeff hasn't been following the news, which doesn't surprise me. Both he and Ted stopped updating their awareness about the time of the Clarence Thomas hearings, given his response to Mary's comment.
I notice Mary keeps referring to Ted as "mister". Jeff, however, doesn't think anything of that apparently. In fact, it looks a lot like Jeff doesn't think anything at all. Shouldn't he be a little concerned that his girlfriend is complaining? Even if he's not 'woke' shouldn't he at least be protective? I think I need a hobby. I've spent way too much time thinking about this.
I'd think the newspaper and the online strips would both come from the same single source. Maybe your newspaper fixed it before they printed it? Now I have to check our newspaper to see what it has.
OK, so the Lakeland Ledger shows it as "It come from being a salesman", like the online version. Though to be more consistent I suppose it should be "It come from being a saleman".
For heaven's sake, why is Jeff asking Mary who they're talking about? Also, didn't Jeff first mention Ted as a friend from the past, not someone he knew "casually a long time ago"? This short-term memory problem of Jeff's should concern Mary. Put down that bottle of beer and make an appointment with your primary care physician, Jeff. As long as it's not Drew....
Y'all got me curious, so . . . The Charleston, SC, Post and Courier does have "It comes from being a salesman." If it's a correction, it was very well done - looks like the rest of the original lettering.
Hmm. In today's panel, Dr Jeff admits to only knowing Ted casually but he sure seemed comfortable with encouraging Mary to give her money to him for this crazy muffin thing. Jeff definitely needs his head examined.
So Dr Jeff actually doesn't know Ted. What did he sell? How do you know Ted was successful? Did he become successful by creeping on women? You must know something about running a business, Jeff. Doesn't anything about this raise questions?

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
"Don't Judge Ted Miller By The Content Of His Hugs; He's Just A Character".
Taste-test.
Market?
Especially...overly-friendly.
Oh, everyone! Salesman!
**Yet another Proofreading Error today: "It come from being a salesman".

Ah the Bum Boat, where the pictures on the wall are the same view as what you can see out the window six inches away.
Mary is channeling her inner Wilbur in that she keeps ignoring a blindingly obvious red flag warning her to get out of this relationship. Ted is Fabiana redux.

Chester: I thought for a moment that those were both windows and that Mary and Jeff were oblivious to the fact that the Bum Boat was SINKING!
This is a strange way for Dr. Jeff to get rid of Mary. Most guys don't want their ex-girlfriends to date their buddies.
It come from being a salesman?
Even the Google Home next to Mary can't handle the silliness of this conversation. It has turned itself off.

“It come from being a salesman”. (Dang, as an old grammar teacher, I keep messing up my phone’s screen with my red correcting pen!)

Dr j talkin like Buckwheat...
hey doc use the word dictate in a sentence....
I just looked at the strip in my newspaper - it says "It comes from being a salesman" so the problem must be with the online strip.

Interestingly, and likely ageingly, I didn't hear Buckwheat coming from Dr. Jeff so much as Tonto.
Fire bad.
Tonto, don't go into town! You'll get beat up!

Wanders, are you saying your neighbor's dog is a salesman?
