Mary Worth 3179

"... or as we say in my mother country where I will be returning in a few days after I'm done painting my host family's house never to return or to see you again, and where everything is better, even the sunsets, and the sun rises, (if you know what I mean, Dawn), 'je me sens paisible.' Don't you?"

Kudos to Moy for keeping this strip chaste. Other more taudry strips, let's say Mark Trail, would foreshadow with Physeter macrocephalus whales. Nothing happens between Belugas. They are the cetacean incels.

That dolphin or whatever that fish is supposed to be is saying, " Hey look guys, it's those two dummies from the Bum Boat the fish on the wall told us about! Swim away, FAST!!!"

Today's (thoroughly bored) Boldface Haiku is titled

"No One Here For Wilbur To Interview".

Glad.
Me too.
Peaceful.

@RobC--Chaste? Hmm. Perhaps take another look at that Beluga.

Did Hugo and Dawn sneak into Aquarium after hours? There are no other humans in evidence. Then again, the jury's out as to whether these two knuckleheads ARE human. The average android has way more personality.

What is the point of this silly story anyway? Even the dolphins can't keep a straight face.

Are we to assume that Dawn has accepted the fact that she's about to be dumped? My money is on "better to have loved and lost... blah, blah, blah... as Sunday's quote.

Ha haaaa, here we are at Generic Aquarium, another enterprise in the diverse line of Generic Industries' Santa Royale properties.

So Hugo dodged the "We need to talk" bullet and lives to live another day at a time. That was a close one, Hugo.

Unless . . .

I"m hoping that Hugo compares the whale (or whatever it is) to her father and she dumps him.

But we know that is too interesting. This will drag on and we'll have a recap of everything that happened on Sunday. Can't wait to see KM's "inspiring" and baffling quote of the week.

I dunno. Estelle’s unwashed-cat-lady emotional breakdown is gonna be awfully hard to top, but I’ll somehow enjoy Dawn’s suffering more. This year’s Worthies are gonna be fierce.

I'm curious as to Brigman's reference for the Aquarium. The proportions seem off to me but I can't quite put my finger on it. Meanwhile, I'm fascinated by panel two where we've now gone beyond floating heads onto complete floating whale/dolphin/whatevers.

Reference is the Georgia aquarium.

SATURDAY

If I've interpreted the fatuous pseudo-intellectualism correctly, Dawn is a dimwit and Hugo just slipped in another veiled heads-up that you can't always get what you want.

Nice, Ham Gravy! Thanks for the tip!

The way the thought bubbles are pointing, it appears that the dolphin (?) and whale are making these inane remarks.

Hey Dawn, dolphins and whales are not fish. And shouldn’t it be “we humans,” not “us humans”? Take that, Mr. Smartypants Frenchie.

Kitkat
"us humans" is correct, the object of the preposition "unlike". Remove the noun; you wouldn't say "unlike we".
But bonus points for the Frenchie bashing.
