You may owe him for dinner if you break up with him at the restaurant.

Again with the French, followed by the English translation - aaaahhh! Hugo’s not marvelous, he’s annoying as heck. We owe him, too - a smack on the side of the head.
I had hoped that Dawn would have shown Hugo the gate and been on her flight home by tomorrow, but I have a sinking feeling that we’re in for a week of awkward conversation. Good grief.
Meanwhile, back at Whateverview Hospital, an anguished Jared is so tied up in knots with dread and stress, he's administered several incorrect drugs and dosages. Mary is called in to counsel him.
hmm… I’ve never heard of an aperilif but if they’re anything like aperitifs, then wouldn’t Hugo and Dawn be looking at a list of alcoholic beverages, not appetizers?
I wonder if his annoying speaking habits have finally pushed Dawn over the edge, or if there will be another week of this? Maybe he'll comment on how the escargot is nothing like the escargot in Paris and Dawn will finally just smack his smug face? I think that would be too entertaining though.
It would be kind of interesting if Jared dumped her when she got back.
Meanwhile, Narration Box, exhausted from a week of "As Dawn and Hugo ...," glumly awaits the hand-off to the Sunday Recap Platitude O' the Week Box, knowing that, after a brief respite, its pointless labors resume on Monday.

At first glance, I read that menu heading as “Afterlife”. Perhaps Hugo and Dawn are in some vague Limbo/Twilight Zone. That would explain a lot.

$25 for escargot? Wowsers. Live up that expense account Hugo, everyone knows how flush things are in the publishing industry.
Who remembers the backstory on Dawn's seashell necklace pendant?
Fun fact: I saw Amélie on an early date with my to-be wife.

It’s not you, Hugo — it’s me. Me hating you.

SUNDAY Apr 26
"Hugo, Il faut qu'on parle"
"Aussi -- passer l'escargot!"
Maybe Dawn isn't breaking up.
Maybe she just wants to suggest that "we can see other friends".
