"She lost her grandmother, who was old. So I figured, Hey, Saul's old... He'll make an easy replacement. Just like when your dog dies, how easily you can replace it with another dog. Am I right, Saul?"

No medical information? How about her health insurance? What happens when she breaks her leg skate boarding with Dawn and Jared?! I can tell Lyle is consumed with guilt about leaving her in Saul's care...

I just LOVE today's strip.

In panel 1, Saul haltingly asks Lyle a question saturated with ominous dread because it's obvious to him that Lyle just wants to dump Madi and get the hell out of there as fast as he can.

And then instead of answering the question, Lyle ignores it and opens another can of guilt and pours it on Saul's crewcut.

No wonder Madi is screwed up.

Lyle: My daughter is grieving. So I'm just popping over to Venezuela for a few months. You can handle her, Saul, right? I mean, we're barely related, so it should be fine!
Saul: I'll keep that in mind. ;)

Is Lyle going to leave any funds for Madi's care? This is bizarre. I don't think Lyle is coming back from Venezuela or wherever he's really going. I think he's ditching Madi and disappearing.

How nice of him to leave his apparently grieving daughter with an old man she doesn't know.
