Mary Worth 3441

I can't imagine what Special Secret Ingredient makes this comic strip turn out so great. Whatever it is, it makes every story sweet. Sweet and vague.

How about Saccharine and Vague? (Sounds like a law firm.)

If/when Lyle actually returns from Venezuela, will Madi plead with him to let her stay with Great Uncle Saul, Gram Two Mary, Auntie Toby, and Little Sis Greta?

So, is this the end of this story arc? Do we move on tomorrow?

If so, this wasn't the worst story we've ever seen. In fact, it was better than anything else in recent memory.

If this isn't the end, then at least this plot got much more palatable, thanks to the secret ingredient. (See what I did there? Ha ha.) It would be interesting to see what happens when Daddy Dearest reappears to claim his sullen progeny only to discover that she's a delightful angel (keeping in mind that "interesting" is a very relative term in the Worthiverse).

I guess the answer is blowin' in the wind.

At first I wanted to complain that 'sweet and vague' was picking on California. But then I realized that Santa Royale is supposed to be in California....so, yeah, fair game. Brain tumors explains a lot, actually.

Newspapers are in trouble and cutting down on pages, including the "funnies." As a retired journalist, I think it would behoove syndicates to encourage their artists to create content that actually drives a narrative, so as to keep readership. Banana bread with an unnamed Gram and mysterious secret ingredient and and idiot 'what the?' baker totally does not serve that purpose. But what do I know?

Remember briefly when Madi was interesting? Ah well, all good things must come to an end. And all things that aren't so good, like this storyline, must also come to an end.

I have to respectfully disagree that this storyline is anything other than a huge snoozefest. I'm so bored I want to see another Dawn's Lovelife story. Well, not that bored.
