Mary Worth 3543

Saul, do you remember when your old dog (Tanya? Olga? Eunice?) died? Do you remember how you felt? That feeling is called, 'sadness.' It is an uncomfortable feeling, but usually does not require medical treatment unless it becomes a chronic symptom. I liked Grumpy Old Man Wynter a little better than Sensitive New Age Saul. Old Man Wynter was funnier. Although this is pretty funny, too.

If Saul kindly observed “Eve, something seemed to upset you. Do you want to talk about it?” KM wouldn’t drag things out for days, or maybe weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if he runs into Mary, who will look concerned and then force her latest baked disaster on Saul as she fires up her Cliche Machine. That will be after Saul tells Greta all about the mall experience, of course.

I’m sorry to put a damper on your crying jag Eve, but it’s easier all around to have you fork over the copay for an unnecessary MRI in the Covid-filled Mountview Urgent Care Center than to ask why you’re sad.

Say, how about I kidnap you and force you to adopt another dog? That always perks me up when I’m feeling down!

I can hear Mike Smith of the Dave Clark Five singing "There's something on your mind, but you won't tell me. Tell me why you're crying and I will help you, help you, help you. But I've got to have a reason." Is that tune on the C-Stone jukebox?

KitKat,

Ha haaaaa, I had the very same thought! Saul and Mary will discuss the mystery crying jag over muffins for at least a week. Then Mary will invite Eve over for some leftover salmon byproducts and meddling.

This might take a month. The suspense is numbing me!

Scottie McW., “leftover salmon byproducts” is a strike of genius. Aren’t those what poisoned the late Bella?

Argh, “stroke of genius,” not “strike”

I wonder if he's considered asking her what is upsetting her and maybe talking about it?

Actually, KitKat, I think "genius" IS on strike in this strip... I'm still betting Eve needs help with either her necktie phobia or her fear of men's suits. And NOW she will have a fear of handkerchiefs..

Wanders et al., hilarious comments today. What imbecile responds to seeing someone cry by saying, "Do you want to go to Urgent Care? Yet another indication that these characters are not human, but rather aliens in human outfits. "Hm, this human seems to have water leaking out of her eyes. This is not normal, and must indicate that something is wrong inside the human. Perhaps I should take her to that being that humans refer to as a "doctor" to get it fixed."
