Mary Worth 3553

C'mon, Eve. Show some Philly pride! She could really take lessons on hometown smugness from Hugo Lambert.

What's the big deal? You can see a few Philly Phamily Photos here!

Wanders, your photos of your family having fun together with nary a mask in sight gives me hope that brighter days will eventually return [sigh].

Saul should be wearing a sandwich board and bellowing, “NATURE! Getcher fresh nature here! Freshest nature for miles!” And if Greta and/or Max do their natural business, that will add to the nature.

Only KM could come up with inane dialogue like “The nature here is beautiful!” Egad.

Today's Blahfaced Haiku is titled

"It Is Said That Even Euell Gibbons Preferred The Nature Of Santa Royale To Philadelphia".

Beautiful!
Pleasant change!
Fresh start!

"An' inna winner, we'd buy us some hot cheecesteaks 'n go to the Iggles game 'n boo Sanny Clawce."

A suggestion for the Charterstone Jukebox: "Tell Me Why" by The Beatles. The lyrics are almost perfect for this, and I use the term loosely, plot.

I think the most excitement we can hope for is that one of them gets a blister on their heel.

I’m wondering if KM is being affected by quarantine dreariness which is damping down her already minimal creativity. These two geriatric sad sacks are harshing my ability to be snarky. I’m hoping for the dogs to break loose, run free through nature, shed bow tie and bandanna and find a group of kids playing frisbee.

Thanks, M. Wanders for the photos! I particularly love the Mummers' parade scenes. Your phamily looks so happy and content with their environment. Really wondering where Eve was living. Fishtown, maybe (before gentrification), NE Philly? When I lived there many moons ago, those were known as some of the grumpier parts of town. I wonder if Eve has a Philadelphia accent, as, I hear, our new First Lady does. Finally, Nance, I can't help noticing that today's blahfaced haiku includes words that sound like the names of laundry detergent..Somehow fitting, given the blah level of today's dialogue. It could use some brightening and freshening...

SAT analogy question : The Charterstone grounds are to a natural Southern California landscape as ---- is to a ------.

(I'd pick Spam & cactus.)

Great photos, Wanders, and I hate to snark our intrepid moderator, but...did Bill Cosby leave you that sweater before he went up the river?

HelenClark pointed out yesterday's blatant error by the colorist. Today's is a bit more subtle but either Greta has six legs or Max has just stepped in some of that natural business that KitKat mentioned.

Holey Moley, this strip is like fast-forwarding a movie one frame at a time. Will someone blow something up? Or throw a punch? Or take a step forward? Anything!!!!!!!!!
