Bad stories can be hard to escape as well. Fur-tunately, this isn't one of them. I'm raising the woof because this has been the ulti-mutt tail! I ruff it!
Anyone thinking that Saul will share his bad memories? If my memory is accurate, Saul is a widower. Did he and the late Mrs. Wynter have difficulties that made him a cranky old man, or did he become cranky when she died? He was a lot more interesting when he was a cranky old man, so here’s hoping some other bad memories surface for him. Saul, remember when Mary’s salmon squares poisoned Bella? Remember Toby’s snark?
KitKat: Maybe Saul and his wife were cranky together, and took great joy in topping each other's complaints about the sheer horribleness of the world.
I miss Saul's crankiness. He reminds me of my cranky father; my brothers and I snarked right back at him, with no emotional trauma involved. Of course, we did own a dachshund at one point. Maybe that made a difference.
Didn't Saul confess to Mary that instead of marrying the young lady he was madly in love with, he married the woman his parents chose for him? I can't remember why that was. It's hard to believe there were many arranged marriages in the 60s, at least in this country.
Great, all I can focus on is that awful painting! What are they? Beets, pumpkins? What happened to those flowers? Did Eve feed them some of that salmon dish? Fixating on that painting is the only thing keeping me kind of sane through this story line.
eve said she regrets that she use to season the food for past dogs and wondered why they didnt live that long she also thinks they were tripped too bye gary stiller
SATURDAY At first I read Saul’s panel 1 remark as “Just having to walk Greta gets me out of my smell.” He wears the same clothes all the time, so that may be accurate.
Saul used to walk the late Bella and/or carry her around at pool parties etc., and he was an old crank then. It seems like Saul and KM have conveniently forgotten all about Bella. No more tearful visits to Bella’s over-the-top tomb!

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
"A Discussion Of Eve's Dining Room Art".
Still.
What!
Nance, you’ve summed it up perfectly yet again!

I know about bad memories. I can't seem to shake that image of Wilbur in a speedo.

Thanks a lot, Steve.
