"Others will want to know"?! I would love to hear Toby tell her to "MYOB" in classic Ann Landers fashion. If Helen Moss knows anything about filing possible Title 9 cases, she doesn't show it when she says "others will want to know", as if she is planning to start a gossip chain about Toby rather than filing a formal complaint. She probably knows that testifying that she spied on Toby and Cal is going to sound vengeful and Gladys Kravitz (the nosy neighbor in "Bewitched")-like so she's sticking to an empty threat. Toby doesn't do herself any favors either by suggesting Helen may want to try "befriending" her students. Always amazed how clumsily this strip handles important issues.
Well, this really can't go far, can it? Helen can tell all the people she wants, but there is no proof and no complaint. So many colleges have been found to ignore or take limited action when people have filed actual charges against teachers and professors that it's hard to imagine anyone doing anything here. Will that make Helen even angrier?
