Mary Worth 3890

This is why H.R. is so unnecessary. Just let angry employees retaliate against each other. It makes things so much simpler.

So Ian is literally standing on Helen's feet and her boobs are resting on his ample girth.

Helen’s office really needs a door, preferably with a lock. Another bad sign: Ian’s not wearing his AstroTurf sport coat, or a kilt. Call School Management immediately!

Beautiful work June! I have never seen such a wonderfully glowering and jowly montage. (I had been hoping for Helen to Gasp Once Again, but I suppose you can’t have everything).

Usually, the characters yell "Auggh" rather than "Gasp"

Well, that escalated quickly.

Are they going to kiss now?

Ian's stern, piercing gaze has apparently caused the bags under Helen's eyes to sink even lower. He's downright menacing, especially after that dark appearance in her doorway. I love the nod to film noir. All we need is Bette Davis playing the role of Helen.

@LouiseF: Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night.

Honestly, I couldn't be happier!

Hate to be a killjoy, but what if this is just like the Wilbur overboard story? The set up is dramatic; the possibilities are endless; we’re all eager to see the smack down, followed by the recriminations, the recital of their broken romance; the Ian return to confess all to Toby; the sight of poor Helen dragging her sorry self out of town; the Cal falling for someone his own age episode…But noooo, the next scene will be all Mary and muffins and praise for Mary’s wise counsel. I can’t take it anymore! I’m returning to the arms of Snuffy Smif for my comic satisfaction. Goodbye cruel world of lame plot endings…

When is the last time a MW daily strip had panels with: A. No dialogue B. No thought balloon and/or no face-in-a-cloud? Seems like it might be a rare moment today. I'll mark my calendar.
