Keep going, Jess! And going and going and going and going and going and going... The eight-month rental on this house we don't need won't be a problem at all.

I've lost track of how many ways that KM could have turned this excruciatingly boring story into something at least a teeny bit interesting.
1. Good looking zoo dude falling into the cheetah enclosure and saved by Jared. 2. Dawn getting drunk at the club and/or ending up with that blue haired guy. 3. Jess's injuries being the result of Knuckles' handiwork. (I was so looking forward to meeting him.) 4. Mary ratting Jared out to Dawn before he had the chance to be honest and forthright. 5. Jess getting back with Knuckles and having him answer Jared's phone call. 6. Jess and Jared getting accosted by someone (anyone!) while chatting at Nearby Park.
All I can say is that it's a good thing KM decided to become a writer (hahaha) instead of a commercial airline pilot.

Jess DOES look worse. Maybe she tripped over the sunglasses she dropped and fell on her face.
