Dawn talks to Cathy, she talks to Wilbur, but she will
listen to Mary Worth, so why don't we just cut to the chase? Stop eating your green chili, and run straight to Mary's for a muffin and advice: "Be friends with Jared, but date gorillas. It's what you really wanted in the first place."

I can hear my mother reprimanding Wilbur: “Elbows off the table - you weren’t born in a horse’s stable!” Is that a salad next to the great big pot of Super Spicy Chili? Whatever it is, they’re both ignoring it. That’s a lot of chili for two people, even if one of them is Wilbur. Maybe Dawn can give some to Mary, who’s waiting impatiently for a meddle fest.
Ah, stand by for terrible fatherly advice, as soon as Wilbur remembers who Jared is. “I know, Dawn - let’s go on a cruise! Those always turn out so well for us!”
“You know what I do when I’m down? Let’s get stinking drunk and go sing karaoke! We’ll invite Jared. It’ll be fun!”
Honest Pete's Karaoke Bar and Bare Knuckles Fightin' Pit is ready for you!
Wilbur actually said thank you and asked Dawn how she’s doing! She must feel so seen and heard.
So will we see Dawn pausing at a duct-tape festooned vehicle and musing, "Reminds me of Jared"?
I hope these two don't need to be anywhere important, anytime soon. I've never tried eating salad greens with a spoon, but I imagine it could take a while.

@HelenClark, I'm beginning to think green salad is the secret ingredient in Dawn's Super Spicy Chili. Wilbur appears to have his index finger right over the bowl of the spoon. And what's up with Dawn's neck in panel 1? Was she rubber-necking so much at other men that her neck stretched at least six inches?
