I’m also peeved that there is no floating head of Fabiana. She would have given high-society Gail a run for her money and easily defeated Iris and Stell.
Dawn could use an appointment with Dr. Sweater Vest before she finds herself singing country songs in the shower and sitting cliff side with a bottle of purple whiskey, but she’ll likely have a muffin-platitude fest with Mary. Will Mary defend Wilbur like she has previously? “Dawn dear, ‘inconsiderate, careless, untruthful, and inconstant’ are just among your father’s endearing quirks! Give him another chance!”
That's at least twice now that he's referred to "my time on the island," but I suppose it's a handy euphemism for "my drunken fall from the cruise ship, miraculous survival (which would have been internet click bait for weeks afterward), and subsequent almost criminally inconsiderate failure to notify my loved ones of my whereabouts."
Also, does it set anybody else's teeth on edge when he refers to Estelle as Stell?
If they called him "‘inconsiderate, careless, untruthful, and inconstant,'" they were actually being kind of charitable. Letting your family and friends think you are dead for a week is completely psycho.
I think Dawn's realization that she's turning into her father is "panel of the year" material.
Not only is Dawn’s realization POTY material, maybe she’ll actually start transforming. Her hair will thin alarmingly, she’ll start wearing ugly specs, and she’ll add 40 pounds.
I'm wholeheartedly in favor of Panel of the Year for the last panel, except the next-to-last one is so delightful as well and adds so much. What's not to love about Wilbur repeating all the names he's been called? Is it time to introduce the Double Panel of the Year Award?
@Kitkat. I recall many years ago when Dawn was first introduced in this strip as a rebellious teenager whose mom needed a break. She looked a lot like Wilbur, glasses, weight and all. Maybe June could bring back that version.

From Merriam-Webster online: inconstant: likely to change frequently without apparent or cogent reason.
Synonyms: capricious, changeable, changeful, fickle, flickery, fluctuating, fluid, inconsistent, mercurial, mutable, skittish, temperamental, uncertain, unpredictable, unsettled, unstable, unsteady, variable, volatile.
I'd say "inconstant" fits Wilbur. He has also found clarity.

I suspect that "inconstant" was actually "incontinent." Drunkenness, age, & Thai food are a powerful combo.

The second-to-last panel is great too. I could have gone for more panels with Wilbur listing all the names he's been called.
Every time I wonder where Mary Worth is going, I am glad I stick around.
