Estelle and Ed are sipping wine, while the animals……frolic.
Suddenly the door opens and Wilbur barges in, heading for the fridge. “Hey, ‘Stell, I need to borrow a cup of mayo… (notices Ed) Hello, New Man.” And…scene!
I can't imagine introducing two strange, adult cats ... especially when the location is completely new to one cat, and throw in a strange dog, would lead to any sort of relaxing evening for anyone.
“Sometime next week” is too vague, Estelle. Are you going to be prepared with a complete dinner any day and at any time? Maybe you’re planning to just call Uber Eats if and when Ed shows up.
Jumping off from @meg’s scenario, Wilbur could walk in and Pierre, Libby, and Odin could all jump on his head and restyle his comb over. Imagine the shrieking by three people and three animals! Mary might even hear it at her place.
Perhaps Estelle’s definition of “unwind” is closer to “unravel”. In any case I’m afraid we’re in for another unbearably saccharine piano duet with feline accompaniment.
It used to bug the heck out of me to hear people say: "Ed and me can relax..." Fortunately, you don't hear that much anymore. Now it's always: "Me and Ed can relax..." sigh...
@Catt - not to worry, Mary will provide plenty of counsel to all the animals about why they should all get along. Not even the pets will dare to dishonor Mary. And there will be a blueberry muffin split 3 ways in it for them.
