Mary Worth 230

It's time once again for another Not-A-Real-Contest Contest! You, the reader, get to decide what everyone thinks when they look at the picture of Mary Worth and Ron Amalfi holding glasses in the Santa Royale News.

Submit your answers in today's comments section. Remember, the winner isn't always the snarkiest, nor is it the most violent. Sometimes it is just the most pure in heart. The winner will have the opportunity to suggest a new song for the Charterstone Jukebox. (Not-A-Real-Contest contests are not real contests. All songs on the Charterstone Jukebox must be approved by the Condo Board. No prize is guaranteed.)

So submit your best (family-friendly) guess today! What do people think when they look at that photo? Come on, you know you want to.

EDITED TO ADD: A winner has been selected which you can read about here. However, feel free to add comments if you'd like, and be sure to read all the entries.

Mary: To your eyes!
Ron: To the bridge of your nose!
Together: Prost!

I noticed in today's comics section that Dr. Jeff and Dagwood shop at the same men's store.

They think, "I knew Mary Worth had the Santa Royale Town Council in her pocket!"

They think... hey is that Andy Griffith and the little old lady that sold Barney the lemon used car in some sort of wierd twist and collision of episode 74 Barney Buys a Car and episode 83 Andy Goes to Mt Pilot?

As the door that Dr Jeff is heading for is clearly labelled "Moy & Giella" it would appear that we are about to enter the realm of metafiction as Jeff begs the writer and artist to intervene and get him back together with Angela Lansbury.

I would prefer that he did it the old fashioned way by conspiring with Rich Amalfi to frame Ron for Donna's murder. Rich gets all the inheritance, Jeff gets Mary back, and we all get to enjoy the sight of Ron frying in the chair.

shandyowl: Jeff is going, going, gone! If he decides to stay with Mary after all the accusations, finger pointing, wild gestures, etc. of the past several days, he's an idiot who will get what he deserves.

Ah yes, Mary Worth. Ten years has it been since you last set your wrinkly feet on my doorstep to rain destruction upon my home.I was so young, so naive. My house was my fortress. How could an old biddy like you bring it down? So naive. Like the wicked old witch with the poison apple you divided my family and conquered them, one by one. And as I write this from an internet cafe right next to the cardboard box where I now make my home, I swear that I will have my vengeance! I will take out the ones you love, starting with... RON AMALFI! *dramatic laughter*

Now where's that comics page? I want to have a good laugh, not read this sort of petty gossip.

I'm scared now that Dr.Jeff's so angry. I'm gonna stop reading and just peek through my fingers till it's over.

Either -

"He could do better."

Or -

"Uh oh, looks like the new town councilman has close ties to the Meddling Lobby."

"That's weird. I thought Lorne Greene died a long time ago. And who's the suit he's having dinner with?"

They think, "Hey wait, how did this Ron joker get on the town council? I don't remember any mid-Spring elections!"

oh, and other anonymous - do Andy Griffith nerds really keep track of episode numbers the way Star Trek nerds do?

Ron, as newly elected-appointed council member, wanted Mary to start a new town group called the "Merry Mary Meddlers", where Mary would train young meddler wannabes, who would then go around to condos, apartment buildings, pool parties and such and search out people who seem unsure of themselves to meddle with and ruin their lives. Plus they could carry on after Mary is gone.

Mary was flattered of course, and considered it for a few minutes, but of course she knows that no one can meddle like her and she doesn't want any newbie meddlers meddling on her territory, plus she knows she's going to be around to meddle forever, and even if she dies her ghost will come back to meddle and meddle better than any live meddlers born after 1900 or so ever could. So she had to say no.

"Oh look, Mary Worth is obviously cheating on her boyfriend, Dr. Jeff Corey. I feel so sorry for that foolish cuckold, Dr. Jeff Corey. Dr. Jeff Corey must be a real fool. That poor stupid Dr. Jeff Corey. Poor Dr. Jeff Corey. She made a fool of Dr. Jeff Corey, alright. What a dope that Dr. Jeff Corey is! I bet Dr. Jeff Corey feels stupid. I should call all my friends and tell them how Mary Worth made Dr. Jeff Corey look foolish. Poor foolish Dr. Jeff Corey! My, my, my. Dr. Jeff Corey. Dr. Jeff Corey. Dr. Jeff Corey."

Regarding the Andy Griffith Show and Star Trek episode numbers. Hmmm, I'm quite sure there are diehard fans who do keep up with the numbers and names of each show. Or they could simply do what I did and make the stuff up!
