Mary Worth 251

As soon as her magic mirror is off the phone, Mary Worth is going to get a good look at who has been handing Ron blank pieces of paper.

Yes, Mary, let's just leave it at that. Tomorrow you can call Jeff Corey and tell him you're sorry for neglecting him; he'll apologize for being such a proud male; and the two of you can go have a delightful seafood dinner at the Bum Boat. It will be the perfect Mary Worth ending to a perfect Mary Worth story.

Ron may only recently have become a Councilman but it didn't take him long to learn to treat his staff in an inexcusably rude and offhand manner by not even looking at them when he hands them paperwork. Perhaps it is an expenses claim for his cancelled dinner with Mary and he will get his comeuppance in the form of a lengthy jail sentence for fraud? A man can dream...

Just how big a place is this Santa Royale? Ron has an office on what appears to be the 109th floor overlooking the financial district!

Tomorrow: A bereft Mary Worth makes a run to the liquor store, buys a quart of hooch, and then slams it down while driving up the big hill toward... the Aldo Kelrast Memorial Guard-Rail Of The Lovelorn!!!

If only...

Mary, when will you realise that men are nothing but trouble? Wouldn't you be better off with somebody who will love you unconditionally? Somebody like Chester!

Because this is a family friendly blog, I didn't feel comfortable commenting on that, and now that it's been brought up, I'm even less comfortable. Let's just change the subject please.

I think I'm going to be ill.

Is it worth (heh, worth) the trouble of pointing out that the position of Mary's fingers on the phone doesn't match her reflection? Yeah, I didn't think so. (Maybe this is why the mirrors used to not reflect anything.)

The plots here remind me of the boulder in the story of Sisyphus, doomed to roll to an almost-climax before sliding backwards into yet another inert state.

In other news, I believe I've solved the mystery of the reflectionless mirrors. To wit:

The evil entity now occupying Mary Worth's body trapped the original soul of Mary Worth in the condo's mirrors.

The original soul has been too terrified to show herself until now (hence, no reflections), but has decided to risk an escape.

First, she must signal someone on the outside to break the mirrors and free her; the only way she's found to do this is to subtly alter her gestures so the 'reflection' doesn't align with the physical body, alerting someone in the physical world that all is not right.

Alas, it appears that She Who Meddles is aware of the ruse; in the mirror, behind the real Mary Worth's soul, we see vague, dark-shaped demonic servants rising up to drag her spirit away...
