Mary Worth Adventures #435

Jeff, if you'd like to get to the restaurant a little faster, you might try driving a little further away from the curb.

"A suspect gathering of prospects?"
With charged anticipation I await this assembly of diners who hopefully will partake of food and wine in a pleasant and cheerful manner! I pray that love be in the air and not some sinister escapade!

It looks like we're set up for a great Valentine's Day episode. I can hardly wait!

I do wish both of them would stop looking at that item hidden behind the car mirror. It seemed to truly alarm them yesterday, and Mary still looks skeptical.

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff! Like Mary's going to pay attention to anything you have to say. You might as well stand on your head and quack like a duck throughout dinner. No, just wait for Mary to suggest that you do so. Everything'll be just fine.

Wanders: Thanks for the mention the other day. I've finally achieved Internet immortality! Wheeeee!

For those readers living near Charterstone, please have any of the residents in the strip contact Adrien and have her read one of Scientific American's publication about the brain which came out around January 2007. There was a lengthy article on internet dating, mentioning that eharmony was not what it is advertised to be. I was on eharmony for about 8 months and met some less than honest persons, both in person and on the telephone. For every success story, there are several failures. One from England left a local woman pregnant. Lots of bums out there trying to sponge off women.

Please do everything you can to be sure that Adrian doesn't fall into this trap.

OOOOO! "A suspect gathering of prospects"? I LOVE it!!!

Actually Mary herself has been dabbling on those internet dating sites and this is the first she's heard it could be dangerous! It hadn't dawned on her. It all SEEMS so innocent! Certainly something to ponder as she rides along with Dr. Jeff Corey, M.D. to dinner.

"I told you in confidence Mary. Please don't be the one to bring it up."

"But, why hide it Jeff? I really, really want to be the one to bring it up."

Isn't a "suspect gathering of prospects" also known as a police lineup?

I wonder if the suspect prospect will look as harmless as Aldo?

I believe a police line-up is a prospective gathering of suspects.

Or a gathering of prospective suspects.

I love how behind the curve Moy is on stories. An assistant probably said, "Hmm, there's this new thing that 'the kids' are doing these days called 'internet dating.' I know, crazy, right? Dating someone you meet online? How does that even work? Could make a good story!" After this story, look forward to one about Y2K. Moy hears it could be a real calamity!

Mary insists Dr. Jeff drive close to the curb because of the unfortunate incident with Chester the Dog. Jeff complies just to humor her, but he's swearing under his breath, I'm sure.

I figured "suspect gathering of prospects"was simply translated clumsily from the original Vietnamese. (Doesn't Dr. Jeff speak that?) But it's a relief that Jeff and Mary are using hip terms like "her man" and "her new guy" instead of "her suitor" or "her gentleman friend." And, Wanders, I assumed Jeff is driving in the parking lane because he just handed some coins to those two panhandlers on the sidewalk.
