I may not be completely familiar with the colloquial term "elope," but I get the impression that we're kind of past that stage now. As I understand it, elopement (in the days when people cared about this kind of thing) meant to run away and get married without your parents knowledge. I think what Ted is hoping for now is just a cheap wedding. And who can blame him - that guy is broke.
I remember after our six-month engagement, I told Mrs. Wanders, "I now know the significance of the expression 'I'd marry you all over again.' Because I'm never going through this again." I'm a big fan of marriage; it's just weddings I could do without.
Of course, then I went onto Facebook and looked at my friend Taylor's wedding photos, I really wished I could have been there! Congrats Taylor and Todd.

And just who is that we see thru the window glass in panel #2? None other than Vera Shieds/Lynn Griffin. And just when we thought we wouldn't be seeing them again.
of course you can afford your own wedding, with all that money you save by not washing your hair..
That DOES appear to be Lynn in the background! The Hospitals in lake Tranquil must be REALLY nad to force her slum down to Mountview.
Vera Shields/Lynn Griffin is under observation in a locked psychiatric ward. She presented to as a new "alter" named Monica, who claims to be a victim of identity theft. She was hysterically screaming, "My identities have been stolen! My identities have been stolen!"
Toots: Very funny!!
So, what is that on the wall in the first panel? I have three theories:
1) a Hiroshima memorial
2) the souls of patients recently deceased
3) the pitch-black shadows of Adrien and Mary, because the hospital is illuminated by candles
I'd say that Adrian should do whatever is necessary to make Ted her husband. Looking at her helmet head black with blue highlights hair and square face, I honestly think that he is the best that she is likely to do.
Thanks, Wes! Great post!
Those shadows of heads don't line up with Mary and Adrian's. I believe, therefore, that that wing is inhabited by the ghosts of dear departed, neglected patients of Adrian and Mary. (Yes, I include Mary, b/c the measure of comfort she COULD have given via a magazine, a snack, a friendly "hello, was ignored. Hearts were broken, and the patients lost their will to live.)
It's Donna Amalfi! And the other brother they conveniently forgot about when Mary almost got her cluthches into Ron.
