Mary Worth 694

From the Desk of Joe Giella

Note to self: How in the world do I draw two adult men of vastly different ages who have 'bonded' enjoying one another's company without it coming across as a scene from "Brokeback Mountain?" ... Can't be done. Don't even try. Just go with the flow.

Today's Full Strip

oooh, I'm just so giddy with all the bonding and quality time....hehehe. Can I call you Daddy?

Is Kurt biting his nails, or what? And why are they touching so much? This is getting too creepy.

It just seems that Wilbur and Kurt are a tad too old, and way out of date, to be playing Courtship of Eddie's Father.

They look like they might be reciting poetry together, especially Wilbur today.

Wilbur looks so much like the creepy CFO at my old company who liked to say perverted things and get too close to the ladies. Yuck.

@Anon! Yes, the Courtship of Eddie's Father... now I know why it all seems so familiar. I've added the song to the Charterstone Jukebox!

I'm convinced now Giella has never set foot outside and has never had human interactions of any kind.

It looks a bit like they are playing 'Tag' in slow motion.

Have Wilbur and Kurt bonded?
If so, what is the meaning of the shoulder-touching rituals?
Wasn't the the fishing while wearing ladies shoes enough?

Whatever you do Dawn, do not disrupt your dad's enjoyment of his time with Kurt.

Sweet bouncing Buddha, if I ever act like this, just shoot me.

It's like very bad pantomime from silent movies.

Courtship of Eddie's Father is a perfect choice for the jukebox. I love it!

I think Kurt has lured Wilbur into the woods to murder him. I don't recall Mary ever dealing with a serial-killer before. This strip is so cutting edge.

Perhaps "Psycho Killer" should be added to the Charterstone jukebox.

I am really looking forward to seeing Wilbur 'go ballistic'. lol

Maybe "Dueling Banjos" would be an appropriate song selection for this panel.

Kurt just keeps looking younger and younger. He looks way younger than Dawn at this point.

Exactly when did Wilbur go to college?

The character "Ward Cleaver" was one of the Greatest TV Dads of All Time. ...Must be why Wilbur and Kurt are dressed like Ward and the Beaver today.

ddg, good one about Ward and the beav. I thought it was take your kid to work day in Santa Royale.

Well isn't this special! Wilbur and Kurt have changed back into their more um..."presentable" clothes now. "What happens in the woods stays in the woods".
