Mary Worth 831

This story is delightful, combining all the best elements of the last two stories: Father/Son reunion from the Wilbur/Kurt story (only this time it is really happening!); and nursing a loved one back to life from the Dr. Adrian/Scott Hewlett story! Now if only Dr. Mike would put on an ice skating leotard and "keep it tight!"

How can Dr Mike/Mikey change in a flash from living his life resenting his absent father to wanting to take care of him?

Has Karen Moy lost all sense and reason?

By the way, I think Jenna's dodged a bullet here...

For one to lose all sense and reason, one must have had them to begin with. By the way, I here Moy is conducting a writing clinc. Anyone care to sign up?

I really hope Mike will bring his dad to Mary, and the green couch.

It's nice to know that Lonnie's years of alcoholism and Mike's years of low self esteem can be cured in just one conversation. Perhaps Mike should bring his dad along to a group therapy session with his patients. Maybe one of them has deep seated feelings of guilt, because they were involved in a drive by shooting, years ago, down in the bad area of town.

Oh, sure, Lonnie & Mike. Just TAKE Off without any notice and stiff poor old Fred with next month's rent! Real nice of ya' -- kind of like the time you left ol' Jenna twisting in the wind for a week.

I place the blame for Dr. Mike's family break-up on his mother. There is no reason Lonnie couldn't be a vigilante and a family man. I happen to know many vigilantes who have a full family life by making sure that they limit their vigilante-ing to 40 hours a week, turning off his Blackberry in the evening, taking regular vacations, etc. It can be done.

Yes, vigilante emergencies do occur, but let's be honest, that can happen in any profession. I think Dr. Mike's mom was just too hasty in thinking Lonnie couldn't have a family and be a vigilante.

So I think Jenna is on the way to earning Mikey's love.

She just needs to keep drinking for a few more years.

Mikey will be waiting for her, on a park bench, that may or may not have a sidewalk in front of it.

As long as she has the shakes, all will be well.

Next!

I kinda like the idea that Lonnie and Jenna can meet at an AA meeting.

BTW, methinks Dr Mike needs to go to an Al-Anon meeting. It's for people who have loved ones affected by alcohol, and he's racking them up bigtime.
