Mary Worth 920

This has been the best Christmas ever. Thank you Mary Worth. I thought Jill making a scene at the rehearsal dinner was as good as it could get, but now a story?! I love stories! Here are four of my favorites:

"Why Bonnie Compulsively Shops"

"The Man Who Got Away"
(or, "Why I Date Your Father")

"Why I Faint When I Skate"

"My Compulsion to Help Others"

Each a classic in its own right. Each a story I return to again and again. I'm sure "Why I Drink Heavily" will be every bit the classic we expect it to be.

Today's Full Strip

Oh what a wonderful medley of stories, Wanders. Thank you for compiling those. What a haunting phrase that is: "I'm going to tell you a story."

I love that guy in the background of the "Compulsion to Help Others" panel.

I think they may be at Schmennigan's. Jill's Monte Cristo will be right up!

I used to just casually surf the web, looking for the amusing and arcane.
then I found M&MW.
Let me tell you a story...

I just hope her story is colored by her drunken state. Maybe we could get a few more ^&)#$s thrown in this story circle!

And thank you, Jill, for making this a December to Remember.

Actually, the most interesting, i.e. stupid, story is the one about why/how Mary dates Jeff. (If you can call their passionless relationship "dating").

Evidently Mary was in a previous relationship and when she'd get mad at the guy, she'd stop talking to him for WEEKS. Somehow, that relationship seemed to me to be somewhat one-sided, if they could go weeks without speaking and only Mary noticed.

Wanders, can you link to that story strip? It's one we should all read and put to use in our own one-sided relationships. Thanks.

OMG - as soon as I saw those wonderful words, "I'm going to tell you a story, Mary...", fall from Jill's lips, I knew this was going to be the best Christmas ever! Please Jill, keep drinking!

IT'S A MARY WORTHMAS DAY MIRACLE!!!!! God I love Jill! If I wasn't happily married (and heterosexual), I would snap her up in a heartbeat.

There's a explanation of why Mary wants to help others?? Please, could you link to that storyline too?

Alas, if only Karen Moy could tell a story....

No, not that kind of a story. A logic puzzle. If Mary can't solve it, it's off to the home!

Whenever I see those four magical words: "tell you a story" in a Mary Worth strip, I am overcome with joy, as I know that Wanders will prepare a blog entry to bring a laugh to my lips.

Thanks for so many fun times, Wanders. You never fail to deliver the goods!!!

Meanwhile, back at the rehearsal dinner, Adrian and her guests anxiously await Mary's return...

It might be a bit too ''mod'' for Mary Worth, but I have a suggestion for the jukebox- Every Picture Tells A Story by Rod Stewart!

I'd just like to reiterate that Mary talking about her "compulsion to help others" always makes me laugh. She makes it so easy sometimes!

This compilation is wonderful.

Here is the recap of the beautiful story of Mary, when she Once Loved a Great Man.

Read the original strip.

This means Adrian and Scott's wedding won't actually happen until February! Thanks, Jill! And I hope on the 12/25 strip, Mary and Jill turn from the story and wish us a lovely Christmas! And maybe Chester can peep in from the restaurant window!

If only someone compiled the Mary Worth "stories" into a digest form, and sold it at magazine stands everywhere. What a stocking stuffer that would be! It could be titled:
"Meddlepalooza: Let Me Tell You a Story."

Merry Meddling!

Spill it, Jill...we're all ears.

I'm crossing my fingers that Jill's story is as fantastic as Jill has been so far. Bonnie?Bonnie Johnson's story was very short, boring, and had no pictures. I want to SEE the anguish of the past this time! We got great pictures from the vigilante's son's saga, but sadly, I don't think he ever said the magic "tell you a story" words. (Honestly, that Jenna story was so dull, I can't even remember the name of the psychologist with the changing hair colors!)

Today's blog was a happy little stroll down memory lane! I had so forgotten about Bonnie and all of those boxes! Oh, this story only gets better - thanks, Wanders!!
