Mary Worth 1,230

Happy Valentines' Day everyone!

You can cut out the card above and give it to your true love.

Nola is almost as sweet a Valentine as Mrs. Wanders to whom I proposed 20 years ago today.

Thanks for the Valentine, Wanders. I especially love the JibJab because my husband and I ride a tandem.

Happy Anniversary Day of the Proposal to Mr. and Mrs. Wanders! Thank you, Wanders, for including the JibJab. What better way to start Valentine's Day morning than with Sonny and Cher?

Now, to the Worthiverse - crikey! (No intimate dinner for Mary and Dr. Jeff in the Bum Boat! Unlike Mrs. Wanders, Mary never accepts Jeff's proposal.) The green in that "art work" perfectly matches Mary's vegetable terrine (I prefer Dave from Parma's word "oobleck," which is more descriptive). Nola must be a devotee of Ayn Rand. I found this Rand quote, which suits Nola to a T: "The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me."

I love the sweet and sour, the yin and yang, of Wanders and Nola!

Happy Valentine's Day to one and all.

I wish Mary and Nola would stop playing musical chairs around the dining table.

Today Mary is wearing what I like to call her "monkey face" in panel one, but at least we don't have to look at another side view of her head. There were far too many of those in lasts week's strips.

WV: "beerater" - (1) one who is critical of an apiary; (2) one who ranks alcoholic drinks made from yeast-fermented malt.

Thorpnotized: I enjoyed your wv comments!

Happy Valentine's Day, ALL!

Wonder how many florists will be visiting Nola's house with a truckload of flowers?

(I once had a friend who was a bit like Nola - and she would end up with multiple floral arrangements sent to her on Valentine's day. As she "saw" a number of gentlemen at work, she had to rotate the flowers on and off of her desktop, depending upon whom she saw coming down the hall! I gave her endless 'flak' about it... :)

Touching JibJab, Wanders, and happy valentine's day!

Is Nola really not hearing a word Mary is saying? She's learned the secret of being Mary's best friend, have a weird dysfunction and allow Mary to yammer on and on about it.

wv: havabliz - like, have a blissful time? Or, have a blitz of a time? Either way, I think it fits Mary and Nola...

Gosh Mary, like being void of conscience is a bad thing...

wv undersam--Where Nola plans to be later this evening--(Sorry Wanders, I couldn't pass this one up)

St. Valentine's Day tip from St. Mary Worth: Pink cotton balls and green beans make a clever and economical floral arrangement.

Wanders, I had no idea that you and Mrs. Wanders are the people who stole Mary's wallet! You need to return it!

Congrats on the 20th proposal anniversary!

Is Nola some kind of poorly-programmed robot who can only say variations of "I have it all because I don't let anyone get in my way"? Captain Kirk needs to confront her with her poor programming, at which point she will self-destruct, and Kirk will hit on Mary.

When did Mary have time to convert the main course into a painting?

Here we go with Mary. You know she's about to launch into a "Let me tell you a story..." which will last way until Guy Fawkes Day.

The way that Nola -- that saucy alleycat! -- is operating, I'm surprised that Mary hasn't burst into song with "V.D. Is For Everybody."

Happy V.D. (Valentines Day, not the other thing) to everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day all!

@ Kit Kat--'oobleck' is actually creditable to Dr. Suess. Compare the cover of 'Bartholomew and the oobleck' to Mary's casserole dish. The similarities are amazing.

And no Mary; you may not offer a suggestion (although that response would likely leave us with a week of panels showing exclamation points, face touches, and other showings of general awkward silence.

Ahh, the joys of moral relativism.
"Nola, you are devoid of conscience...not that there's anything wrong with that."

@ James in North Dakota, "saucy alleycat" is perfect! If the Santa Royale Players ever do a production of "Batman," Nola can play Catwoman. Just picture her vamping in a catsuit and purring.

wanders--I didn't recognize Mrs. Wanders with blond hair.

WV: dismang - 1) surgeon slang for a procedure to fix fingers or toes misaligned by entanglement in machinery; from: dismanglement; 2) name of rapper Gordon Watts, whose sole repertoire consists of insulting other rappers' skillz (Dis-man G)

Aww, that video was adorable! I hope you & Mrs, Wanders have a romantic evening planned. Maybe dinner at The Bum Boat, followed by a romantic moonlight stroll, through various landscapes?

Happy Valentine's Day to Wanders, and to all. And may everyone enjoy strange buzzy feelings of LOVE today!

I'm waiting for Dr. Jeff to walk in with Valentine flowers and candy for Mary, only to have Nola go "Well, hell-O handsome!!!" That would be so awesome...a catfight!

Happy Valentines Day to all, and happy proposal day, Mr. and Mrs. Wanders. How do we get to see the JibJab video? Sonny and Cher would be almost as exciting as Mr. Trololo.

Apropos of nothing, I saw a dead ringer for Ian/Chinbeard driving in my town today. He looked kinda grumpy and everything! No sign of a Toby doppelganger...or a Nola look-a-like either.

This morning it looks like they are winding up for 'the story': "How Nola came to be so much like a man."

Wonderful Valentines, Wanders. I remember the report well. I laughed so hard I almost woke your Mom.
