Mary Worth 1,236

Ms. Bleu-Cheveux and Mr. Stroke need to keep in mind that selling middle managements isn't easy. Nola will make an excellent VP.

...Goodbye Diane-Spammer. (Post above this one)

Oh and for all of you legitimate MW&Me fans - don't you just love snide coworker's blue dye job?!!

Wowee, today's strip is a feast! I had the same thought as Meg @ 6:53 AM - Smithers fired! Oh no! http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Waylon_Smithers,_Jr.

An underling whose hair is even bluer than Nola's! Maybe she can update the Crystal Gayle song and break into a rousing version of "Don't It Make My Brown Hair Blue."

And, who would have thought that the prez of Nola's company is George Hamilton (albeit minus his tan)?

So, Nola frames old Dan for stealing and thereby "earns" a promotion (heh, heh). Now she gets to walk with CEOs.

Meanwhile the bedraggled, over-worked peons are left behind, muttering into their sleeves, not knowing what happened but still smelling a rat.

I like the symbolism here; and I think I may have figured out some of Giella's "hair code." Ms Peon has straight black hair--black because she is unattractive/unpretentious, straight because she is so overworked that even her hair has gone limp, or else she is so poor that she can't afford one of those new-fangled "perms" like Nola can.

Oh by the way, Mr. Snidely Peon, when you talk out the side of your mouth, you use the side next to the person you're addressing.

The sneering male co-worker* seems to be smiling as he sneers. He should take sneering lessons from our former VP Dick Cheney.

Has anyone else listened to the audio version of proving you're not a robot? Very strange...

*(Although spell check seems to accept either spelling, I always use "co-worker" as "coworker" seems to refer to someone who orks cows.)

I can't believe the events that lead me to keep reading this strip (heh heh).

Maybe it has to do with my WV1 ('unduress', a.k.a. 'under duress').

The comments today have kept me laughing all morning--definitely needed during this over-hyped, under-snowed winter. . . .

@thorpnotized

Makes me laugh and remember a friend who would always (on purpose) pronounce the word "co-worker / coworker" as:
"COW-ORKER".

Poor Katy Perry's career has really gone downhill if she's forced to work as a peon in Santa Royale. Lucky she was able to keep her blue wig.

Mr. Grey Guy is plotting something. Only evil people talk out of the side of their mouths and have stubble that needs rubbing at this early hour of the workday. Not to mention the sleazy slicked-back hairstyle.

When this story first started, I assumed Nola was another goofy but harmless inhabitant of the Worthiverse (although the constant reference to her apartments--plural!--planted some early doubts). Now I see that she's just no good. No Good Nola, yeah, that's what I'll call her! I can't wait to read about all the evil deeds she committed and how it affects the lesser citizens who hardly ever get what they want.

So she framed poor Smithers for stealing? How disappointing. I really thought she'd slept her way out of selling middle managements. I'm wondering now if Smithers is just a nickname for Mr. Smith... Emily's dad!

Poor guy looks like he needs a shot of the Tin Man's oil can to unhinge that jaw. Nola must work for a pretty casual office, if blue hair is acceptable.

I think that Nola must have punched that guy in the jaw. She's just the type to do it, too.

Next time Nola meets with Mary she's going to brag about how she framed her boss for stealing and is now sleeping with the president of the company. Mary will only be able to spout out "!" "?" and a few "!!!" while continually grabbing her face.

Holy cow, today's strip -- what's not to like?

Mr. Sneer, I love you. Dan Smithers, your awkwardly placed "-ers" makes your story all the more tragic. Miss Blue Hair, perk up, willya? And check out the confusing crotch lines on the pants in panel one.

It's days like today that remind me why I always come back for more Mary Worth.

ok, I'm just going to say it -- Lockjaw and Bluehair are too physically unattractive in the Worthiverse to ever make it out of even low-level sales! Only the beautiful people get to be Prez or Vice Prez of sales. Smithers, I'm sure had a mustache.
