Mary Worth 1,429

I live for these days. Reading Mary Worth's "Ask Wendy" sermons one little sentence per day.

As I ponder the value of a short life well lived, I think I will fill my time with my absolutely favorite short film. I have probably posted this before, but I don't care!

Today's Full Strip

That film has a definite streak of Wanders-tude to it. Thank you for sharing, friend.

You have a cool keyboard, Mary. And you always keep that hair tight.

Perhaps Mary is not understanding the premise of Wilbur's column. Someone has to ASK a question before the pontification can begin, no?

Clearly Moy is spinning her wheels while she cooks up the next armchair-gripping plot for us.

So...if Dawn does something worthwhile, like helping Jim, then we can kill her?

Mary's desk accessories are quite fascinating. We have the retro in-out basket, the pencil cup and the computer, all in stylish gunmetal grey. The best are her reference books: "Bartlett's Familiar Platitudes", "Aphorisms for All Occasions", and that advice writer's essential tool, "The Elements of Smugness".

P.S. Wanders, I LOVE that film! I'm smiling now. (And T.J. Thyne as a bonus. Thanks.)

A short plotline is also good.

"Dear Wendy, what about a medium life, you know, not short but not long, sort of in-betweenish..."

Dear Wanders, thanks for the validation!

Mary's sudden Platitude Gushing has a very sinister undercurrent to it. Is she advocating euthanasia? Murder? Is it a warning that she's going to kill Dawn? Was that Ghost Pie aptly named?

I feel like, had Mary not gotten her upper lip waxed discreetly at Spa, she might be twirling a mustache in today's strip.

Something is definitely wrong with Mary. She ended every sentence with a period. Not an exclamation point in sight. Is she slipping away?

It's no wonder Mary is onto what must be her favorite part of the "Ask Wendy" gig--lecturing readers. She didn't bother to actually talk to Wilbur--the guy she GOT the job from--but instead got Dawn's blessing to continue doing "Ask Wendy" (see yesterday's strip). Maybe Dawn actually runs the newspaper! This may explain her cavalier attitude about choosing a college major. . .

Looks to me like Mary is going to transform Ask Wendy to compete with Wilbur's new I'm Alive (? can't remember the name) column.

Let the column wars begin!

The in/out boxes are so big, but the books are so small. I was expecting the computer mouse to have whiskers.

My new favorite video. Will be sharing it with all my friends and watching it repeatedly any time I feel discouraged with humanity.
