Mary Worth 1811

After a morning of Mary Worth's meddling, Tommy is now ready to make a genuine effort to become a contributing member of society, willing to take on any legitimate job. You can tell because he has put on sleeves and he hung a new picture over the couchlike thing he is sitting on.

I remain puzzled by how the Iris-Wilbur relationship became the Romance of the Century. We might have to ask Wanders to add "Love Story" to the Charterstone Jukebox. Since things are going so swimmingly for them, will Wilbur take back "Ask Wendy"?

I zoomed in on the second panel to see some fascinating details. Tommy has either chest hair, a centipede, or a tattoo above the neckline of his shirt. Also, the photo on the right appears to be of a child and a bearded man. Is this Tommy and his late father?

Tommy is suddenly looking (and speaking) a whole lot younger. What happened to the tortured, careworn, prison-etched man named Tommy Beedie?

re: Panel Two. Who, at any age, says that she and a love interest are "BACK ON"? This dialogue is painful.

He looks half smashed. Do Mary's casseroles have any secret ingredients we don't know about?

I fear for Tommy's recovery as he appears to be drinking a glass full of Windex.

Oh, it's on, Iris, it's on!

Shouldn't 'back on!' be delivered with a finger point?

Me thinks that Tommy's idea of good news may differ from Iris'.

The area has come a long way, but I don't see Iris and Wilbur eating at a diner in Midtown in Cleveland. Also, is it me, or is Tommy looking particularly fresh-faced Wednesday?

Man, I had a lot of catching up to do. I hadn't read Mary Worth in over a month.

I think the good citizens of Santa
Royale need their water checked. Obviously there is something in it that makes every single man in town have an overabundance of chest hair.

@Dave in Parma at 9:29 a.m., Tommy's chat with Mary has opened the door to a whole new world, one full of sunshine, lollipops, and roses (plus the pony-tailed Tina, I predict). Tommy's even wearing ugly yellow footwear!
