Well, this story has taken an exciting and unpredictable turn. I think of all the Waitresses in the Worthiverse, Jerry's is the most beautiful. Tommy is going to make that restaurant sparkle like a unicorn's horn.
It looks like Jerry doesn't supply uniforms for the janitorial staff. And, is that supposed to be a flat-screen TV in the first panel's left corner?
Here's my prediction, folks: Blonde Waitress will refuse to give the time of day to the lowly Tommy. However, he will find true love with Pony-tailed Waitress Tina. At the rate these plots progress, we should know in October if my prediction is correct. It's going to be a looonngg summer at Jerry's.
Well, Tommy has achieved redemption through getting a minimum wage job, so what else is there but to achieve redemption through the love of a good woman?
One of the schools I work at is about a mile from a prison (I know, right?) And when I drove by this morning, there were prisoners outside doing some sort of clean up...but...there was no armed guard standing over them! I wanted to pull right over and say, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, there fellas...what's this? No armed guard standing in the water puddle as the prisoners clean? What world are YOU living in?"
But they they would have arrested me for being crazy and I would be in jail now.
Tommy will definitely have his work cut out for him with the ladies if he continues to exhibit symptoms of whiplash every time he sees a BEAUTIFUL WAITRESS getting off work.
He's startled because he recognizes her from her weekly drug mule runs to the prison, and realizes that Jerry must be the legendary Fast Food Meth King of Santa Royale.
This is bad news for us. It means a new chapter in the Tommy story, which we (at least I) hoped would die down now that he has a job and his mother has stopped making excuses for him. I didn't even care if Mary Worth was going to take all the credit. I just wanted it to end.

Remember Tommy, we're family here, so that's your sister.
The waitress may be beautiful, but she carries a boxy concrete shoulder purse just like any other elderly person in Santa Royale.

Hey,Mom. I just met a wonderful guy. He's an ex con and works a couple of hours a week at Jerry's as a janitor. I think he's the one.
Oh, and he lives with his mother.
And I met him on his first day of work.. .
...and the beautiful waitress looks amazingly like Tommy's mother, Iris. 'Nuff said!
