I know it doesn't seem quick at all, and that this story has been going on forever, but to be fair, Adam first accosted Terry on March 23, which is only 111 days ago. So, really, as courtships go, it is shorter than average. It seems he was able to wear her down -- I mean, win her over in four dates: Balloon ride, amusement park, picnic and ferry ride, although you probably don't remember the latter two. When I compare that to my own courtship, I'd say I pretty much knew I could marry my wife after four dates, I proposed after six months of dating, and then we were married six months later. That may be considered fast to some, but what can I say? We make a great team.

We did it! We saved Mary Worth in the San Diego Union-Tribune. Barely- it received only 8.1% of the vote, same as Marmaduke. Judge Parker only got 7.1% and was axed, so that 1% was huge. Thank you, Wanders, thank you Worthy friends. We make a great team!
Not to brag, but I can beat your record, Wanders - when the husband and I met, that fateful day twelve years ago, we pretty much knew that was it right then. As we joke now, I might as well have just said, "Well, there you are. Come along, you..." and taken him home. We had it all hashed out in a couple of weeks, and in he moved. We still agree we made the right choice, so we must be doing something right. Unlike some comics-creators I could mention.
And congratulations to San Diego!
Is no one going to comment on how Terry complimented his cane work in panel one?
@Sandi Ego: Congratulations for Mary Worth making it through the cut! But no Judge Parker?!?!? Eeeeek! That's a strip with a real plot that actually progresses significantly day to day. What would life be like without sexy Sam Driver? Thank heavens for the Internet! Did Apartment 3-G make the cut?
San Diego never had Apt 3G. I've been reading it online for years.
Well, I hope they get married soon, because with that level of jaundice, they both appear to be in irreversible hepatic failure.
Now they can spend more evenings together looking to take out
criminals and beat them to a pulp! Such team work! They likely
share a sadomasochist fetish....
What other soap opera comics are there? Online I read Apt 3G (which is really bizarre), Judge Parker, Rex Morgan, and Mary Worth. Are those all there is?
111 days to win her over? hastings and whatever her name was did it in less than a week of flute "rehearsals"
What are they putting in that coffee? In the last panel it looks like Adam is missing Terry's lips entirely, and is about to fall face-first on the floor in front of the couch. And he is totally oblivious to Terry's obvious double-entendre. I am surprised at the comic for putting Terry in what looks like PJ's, having invited Adam up for 'coffee'. I wonder what the Charterstone walk-of-shame is like? I'm picturing Cersei from the last episode of Game of Thrones.
While on vacation, I was deprived of Mary Worth and was forced to read "Judge Parker" in the Columbus Dispatch. Oddly, the plotline of THAT strip was the same as the Terry/Adam strip, complete with impending engagement. The rings in that strip were produced a week ago. Who would think there was a wedding ring horse race in the comics? Apparently more couples are marrying in the comics than in real life. Given the divorce statistics, we should see either Terry and Adam or the hapless twosome of "Judge Parker" splitting up within 5 years. . .
@deb: There's also "Gil Thorp," which is awesome. There's a blog, too, "This Week in Milford"
@LouiseF: Neddy and Mark in "Judge Parker" aren't getting engaged just yet. ("Mary Worth" is much more romantic!)
