Mary Worth 2142

Actually, Ian has prepared himself the most appetizing meal I've ever seen in this comic strip. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and French fries. You don't usually serve two potato dishes, but tonight comfort food is justified.

Ian might get used to this being alone thing.

Today's full strip

Wax beans?

Poor Ian! The best food yet in the Worthiverse and he looks like he’s just barely managing to choke it down! And where’s Chin Napkin when you really need him? *heavy sigh*

I thought maybe wax beans, or perhaps french fries and cottage cheese. The fact that we can make tentative identification of actual food may mean that Uncle Joe is in sympathy with Ian. If so, may Ian please have a new jacket, Joe?

Remember how Uncle Joe draws; it could be cauliflower and yellow beans!

And those flowers? Are they the ones Ian brought home for Toby?? Guess he took that suggestion to find a vase under the sink.

Maybe Ian will eat the flowers for dessert. At least he swapped the turf sport coat for a polo.

Elbows on the table. Really, Ian, how boorish!

Chin Napkin has again failed to show up where he is needed. Alas,I fear that there may have been an accident at the laundromat.

Cross-comic pollinization: Those mashed potatoes look like either Casper the Friendly Ghost, or Popeye.

I think it's chicken-fried steak from Diner, mashed potatoes with country gravy, and wax beans. Probably The Special.

I think Meg came closest, but you're all wrong. That's a chunk of the Sta-Puff marshmallow man and some halved #2 Ticonderoga pencils.

For the Chartestone Juke Box, please consider "Sad Day" by the Rolling Stones and "All She Wrote" by Ray Davies.
