"Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who's done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice," - Donald H. Trump, United States President
Such a cool pier that is built at an angle from the shore so you can more easily observe the sunset. And what a sunset! The sun is almost touching the horizon then rises back up again. I guess that's how it makes progress, with the ebb and flow. I secretly hoped for Clarence Oddbody, Angel Second Class, to jump in so Tommy could save him and thus Clarence could save Tommy. I also wished there was a memory bubble of Iris wrestling demons.
I think we should be farther along, too! Oh, well ... at least the strip is going in a new direction. No more advice from Mary Worth ... it's IRIS who has all the platitudes ... er, wisdom to dispense. Look out, Mary, you replaced Wilbur as Wendy, and now, Iris is replacing you as the Santa Royale advice dispenser!
I hope Nance is right about the sunset metaphor and we have seen the last of the Tweedlebeedies for a good long time. I'd even accept a Wilbur segue. I wonder if he's still in Antarctica after almost three months....
Wilbur: Hi, hello there! Are you survivors? May I interview you for the Santa Royale Weekly Shopper?
Random grey person: Er, actually, we're eco-tourists from that very expensive cruise ship offshore, and we've survived a shore excursion by Zodiac with our buffet breakfasts intact.
Random gray-green person: Speak for yourself, Fred. Urrruppp! Ack!
Did they pay real money for this recovery plan; At Home with the Bible and a side of Martyred Motherly Support? "Yes, withdrawal hurts almost as much as a broken heart." Kid, there's drugs out there that can help you, ask about them, listen to me!

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Key Words Here: FURTHER ALONG, And We All Hope That Sunset Is A Metaphor".
Further along: better, stronger, calmer.
Credit: brave, wise.
Thanks.
Progress--ebb, flow. Rarely straight path.
Okay! Demons myself....
I love today's byline comment, Wanders! Trump's Frederick Douglass quote - filed under Thin Grasps of Reality. Excellent.
Like the tide, progress is made in an ebb and flow pattern. Wow, that's deep.
Complete b.s., but DEEP b.s.

Where are Zak and his unidentified female companion? Anyone who didn't read the strip this week would be clueless...just like KM....
April the giraffe is also thinking she should be further along by now.

Love the twist at the end of today's haiku, Nance! "Demons myself" strikes an intriguingly ominous note after all that bravery and wisdom . . .
MONDAY
Oh, Wanders. It seems that you are a False Prophet. The Beedies are the Energizer Bunnies of the Comic Strip World. They just keep on keepin' on. Ugh.
Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "In Which We All Wish Those Windows Opened".
Struggling. Vicodin want!
Very well! Plateau, backslide...anytime.
Skipped N.A.! Why?!
@Gina--Thank you.
@Anonymous 1:15--Genius.
Iris, Tommy, how can we miss you if you won't go away!
Actually, Wanders, it's Donald "J." Trump. (We don't want any alternative facts cropping up, do we?)
