Mary Worth 2741

Wilbur has been traveling around the world for over a year, living in hotels and eating room service. So clearly, money isn't the reason for his hesitation as they pick out an engagement ring. Perhaps, deep inside, he still has feelings for Iris. Those two kids have broken up a lot more than they've gotten together, and I for one, can't get enough of their discomfirture.

Today Mary Worth features Golddiggers in its panels. Let that be another lesson to Women Everywhere, who have learned So Much from it already about Life.

And June continues her ethnic stereotyping with Senor Skinny Mustache clerk. Bleah!

I hope a police officer sees Zak and Iris and investigates for suspected drug use.

Zak and Iris: You're not 16. You don't have to neck in a car.

Wilbur and Fabiana: I'm not sensing an engagement ring. Fabiana is not blind. I'm sensing an expensive necklace and matching earrings. After Fabi drains away all of Wilbur's money, she and Pedro can give him the heave-ho.

I have never been to Bogota, so I don't know if that is how a jeweler would likely be dressed there. I do wonder, though.

Fabiana is radiating enthusiastic avarice. She seems to be pointing to a chunky necklace instead of the rings, perhaps as an additional tribute to their—ahem—“love”? But, giving the young woman the benefit of the doubt, and presuming that she is genuinely attached to Wilbur, has he told her that there is a living ex-Mrs. Weston (Dawn’s mother) somewhere in the U.S.? Does Fabiana have any moral or religious objections to divorce?

I really love Wilbur's new hair plugs.

My prediction is once Fabiana drains Wilbur's bank account, he will be calling Mary for airfare back home. Better still, it would be funnier if Mary comes to Bogota and gives Miss Goldigger a piece of her mind.

Second prediction: After Fabiana drains Wilbur's bank account, he does and Aldo Kelrast and dives off a cliff. Fast forward to the Santa Royal pool party and they are discussing Wilbur's funeral.

Even if Wilbur spends $10,000 on a two-week fling with Fabiana, it's still cheaper than a two-week bender in Vegas. Wilbur knows what he's doing.

Tough part will be if he spends all of Dawn's tuition money and she has to (gasp!) get a job.

Dawn will also be mad that Iris is taking the only successful millennial male in Santa Royale. Only single guys left are Jared and Tommy.

Life is Brutal!

Senor Gilligan the jeweler!

Are we supposed to be terrified that Wilbur and Iris might make it permanent with their respective new flames and OMG NEVER GET BACK TOGETHER AGAIN?!?

Because I really couldn't care less.

Are we certain Jared didn’t skip town and disguise himself as a Bogota jeweler?

Since Jared got more characterization than the last five characters in the Worthiverse, I would like to see him again. Maybe he'll have a part-time job moonlighting as a security guard, wearing a Star Wars tee shirt in the parking lot of Charterstone where he catches Zak and Iris smooching.

So is the end payoff of this story line going to be that Dawn AND Wilbur both suck at relationships? Wilbur is going to crawl back to Iris but it will be too late - Iris will be with Zak (and Zak will be nearly the same age as Wilbur by then).

Dear Wendy: I have this friend, her name rhymes with virus, who has major issues with relationships. What should I do?
