Mary Worth 2856

Inspired by the Head and Shoulders commercial, Wilbur finds his shower radio. It's been a long time since he's showered. Surely this will help his mood... and OURS! Because nothing will lift our spirits like watching Wilbur shower. Naked.

I'm really hoping he tunes into the Chartersone Jukebox playlist on Spotify. Do you follow the Jukebox? The Condo Board has selected a tastefully appropriate list of songs, all inspired by the adventures of Mary Worth. If you haven't had a listen recently, Charley Smith has left some metal slugs and wooden nickels so you don't have to drop any coins into the jukebox.

A shower radio! Honestly, I had no idea what it was. I thought it was Dawn's diaphragm.

NOOOOOOOOO! I thought we had left Wilbur World for Beautiful Italy. But here we are, stuck in the morass again. Now I'M getting depressed.

So that's a shower radio! I couldn't figure out what it was for sure. I thought maybe it was one of those hanging air fresheners, and Wilbur was going to huff it.

Ya know, it isn't that difficult to "Google Image" something. Shower Speaker? Essential oil diffuser? June, a little effort here...

Shampoo, shower radio, Wilbur dancing in the shower while suds get in his eyes and cascades down his legs...

Wilbur is going to slip, fall and break a hip. Better yet, he'll hit his head and get amnesia!

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Wilbur Discovers A Simple Joy".

Where?
Ah!
There!

(It was on the same shelf as Splak Body Spray.)

Wilbur is going to take a shower and think about the lady in the Head and Shoulders commercial?

UGH!

I also thought it was an air freshener, which Wilbur must need after his Beans and Cabbage TV dinner.

I came up with shower radio after thinking closet air freshener. So, does Wilbur plan to find the local Latin music station and practice his salsa moves in the shower? And can you get electrocuted by a battery powered device?

I thought it was a portable white-noise machine. Wilbur could use one to Make the World Go Away. (Wanders, this is another suggestion for the Charterstone Jukebox.)

Has Charterstone always been on a coast? I don’t recall a nearby body of water, unless that glorified puddle Wilbur walked by has expanded.

I was wondering what he was holding. I saw the rolls of toilet paper and figured a good bowel movement would have fixed him up.

From the "Boy, This Could Use Some Editing Department", this Wilbur non-plot is moving slowly enough without an entire day's strip devoted to the inside of his towel closet, despite the puzzling As Seen on TV item in his hand that Dawn was apparently suckered into buying....

Oh, Anonymous! I also thought it was Dawn’s diaphragm - perhaps a leftover from the Dave years. Thank goodness it’s just a shower radio. Still, I may never be able to scrub that first image from my eyeballs.

I'm with you Scottie McW, I thought it was an air freshener as well. I thought Wilbur had done something horrible in the bathroom (like the disaster that was in Jerry's sandwich shop-probably caused by Wilbur as well) and he needed a freshener.

This story is going at a "glacial pace", something that Maren Koy promised wouldn't happen. I really think she's trolling us by having Wilbur endlessly talk about what a loser he is. Let's get back to beautiful Italy and watching the buildings city of Venice float away.

Thanks Wanders, I was going to suggest Poor Poor Pitiful Me. (Myself and everyone else.)

Yes, Tim, it's not every day you see rolls of t.p. featured so prominently in a soap strip. If it's Charmin, perhaps Wilbur could comfort himself by giving one of the rolls a big squeeze.

Wilbur, congratulating himself for having stocked up on bathroom tissue when Food Team had their buy one, get three free sale, looks forward to an evening of merriment.

For tonight, Wilbur will unleash his inner teenager and cover the Charterstone compound with toilet paper! (Won’t Dawn be proud?)

I had no idea what it was. It looks kind of like an air freshener, but why would that cheer you up (unless your house reeks, which is a real possibility here).

Maybe Wanders should break out the paint drying video - that would be more interesting than watching Wilbur continue to wallow in self-pity.

I thought that thing was a blue "Flicker" - remember that round razor from the 70s? Whew... I don't know if I could have survived watching Wilbur shave those fireplug legs of his.

Calling it now. Wilbur's shower dance ends in a gainer through the glass door. The recently widowed emergency room nurse has a thing for nearsighted, overweight, self-centered men with comb-overs.

Don’t you remember how afraid One Armed Jim was of the pier? 😝

Thank heavens I came here and to the Comic Curmudgeon Josh or I would never have figured out it was a radio. Diaphragm, birth control pills, air freshener...those were all possibilities in a linen cupboard (although, Dawn shouldn't have left the first two behind while in Beautiful Italy). I can't imagine how this is going to play out without making me gag. No matter what Wilbore does with it.

Let me break it down for you, folks ... Wilbur is looking for "something to help his mood," so he moves the hanging air freshener out of the way to find Dawn's ... DRUGS? ... No. You can see that he's looking past the air freshener in his hand up to Dawn's secret hiding place behind the toilet paper, where she keeps her ... (insert non-family friendly object) ... Wilbur sure will!
