Why doesn't Estelle suggest that she can get on airplane and go visit him? That probably makes too much sense. I'd like to see Estelle bump into green glow at the grocery store.
I think this is the first comic that I can almost smell the stink coming off of Green Meanie Arther/ur.
Arther/us is an amatuer compared to Ted Confey. He got fifty grand off of Adrian Corey by saying his (imagiary) sister was in desperate trouble. Doesn't Arther/ur have any relatives that he can use to play on Estelle's heartstrings? Even Fabiana and "cousin' Pedro got 30K out of Wilbur. Arther/ur needs to step up his grifting game. Start by calling her "Queenie".
I've come to the conclusion that every person in Santa Royale with any kind of money is an idiot. Mary is the only one that seems to be able to hang onto her dough.
It's telling how Arthu(e)r can't be bothered to wait until after their call to smoke a cigarette. Between that, the typos, the easily discoverable proxy photo and the absurdly minimalist cover story, his investment in this grift is embarrassingly minimal. Which is to say, as noted several times previously, that KM might have done a bit more research on the topic beyond the first link from a search for elderly fraud.

If Arthur/er continues to smoke in bed, this situation may resolve itself in a different way than either he or Estelle expect.
