Mary Worth 3137

If looks are secondary to MANY other things, doesn't that make them, like, 47th or something? And apparently, Mr. Silverdater is ugly as sin, but he breaks into spontaneous song on the phone, and Estelle enjoys laughing at him. That's LOVE!

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled

"Estelle Learns To Settle, Now That She's Poor".

Silverdater doesn't! Laugh!
Secondary good relationship.
New chapter!
Don't look back!

"Doesn't have model looks." Gee, that sounds kind of like Arther, doesn't it?

“Don’t Look back!” Mary is speaking to all of us. Just forget any of this ever happened. You will never see Estelle or Libby again. We’ll have a Sunday Summary and then move on. Don’t expect a pool party.

I’ll sorta miss Libby. And I hope Arthu(e)r’s Poor Sad Dog has made a break for it.

Wouldn't it be funny if it was Arthur/er using his real picture to reel in Estelle again?

I guess Mary's "Take what you learned, go forward...and don't look back!" is what she did after being assaulted in her home by Ted Miller.

Another day of Estelle not revealing New Beautiful Man's name. She's hiding something from Mary. Maybe it really IS Wilbur but he's using "Wendy" as his SilverDater ID.

I wonder how Iris and Zak are doing. They're my favorite couple.

Mary should host a couples night when Estelle's new beau shows his ugly face. The two of them, Zak and Iris, Toby and Ian, Dawn and Harlan, and Mary and Jeff can all have a great evening while Wilbur hides in the bushes and looks plaintively through the window after letting the air out of Zak's tires.

He's not a looker, but he does try to cover his MPB with 17 strands of hair combed just the right way. He also says he makes a mean ham sandwich.

I probably wasn't the first, but I called this weeks ago.

Mary sucks at being a busy body if she can't arrange a hookup between her two best friends who've been duped in a love scam. What the hell do they have pool parties for at the Charterstone??????

Laughter is key, just ask ol' what's her name and Tee Hee Eddie. They are so absorbed in their love and giggles that they forget they even have a daughter.

@Scottie McW., your Couples Night at Mary’s had me laughing out loud. I’d love to see that! Don’t forget Hanna Diingdon Hastings and hubby Sean. I recall that Hanna plays the piano and Sean the flute, so they can compete with Estelle and her new Mr. Wonderful.

Does Dr. Jeff sing?

@KitKat

Thanks!

And Tommy and Brandy, who would likely be bored out their skulls as they sip lemonade or whatever it was that she drank.

Don't forget Adrian and Scott the Cop, and Saul Wynter and Greta the Pup.

And maybe Mary can use a ouija board to commune with the late Jack...

This is absurd!!!

Mystery Singer is local - meet for coffee!
Estelle had dinner with several other SilverDaters.
That seemed to give her enough info on whether a second date was going to happen.

And Mary, given her prominent position in the community, likely knows him.

And when you meet him, use your best Seinfeld voice, and say, “Hello, New Man.”

Sunday - I don't think her problem is that she rushed into a serious relationship with "Arther" - it's that she sent him $10,000. He didn't even have a believable reason for needing that money.

This new guy must be hideous, given how many times Estelle has to bring up that he doesn't have model looks.

". . . doesn't have model looks at all, but he makes me laugh." So he's funny looking?

I know it's just a Sunday summary, but seriously, Moy's writing has gotten so lame, inane, and just plain pathetic that it's almost not worth snarking on. Wanders, is it time to let Mary go and start deconstructing Six Chix?

KitKat said...

As she enthuses about her nameless “new interest,” Estelle should break into “My Funny Valentine”:

“Your looks are laughable, unphotographable,
Yet you’re my favorite work of art.”

Except Rodgers and Hart would roll over in their graves to be quoted by Karen Moy.

Oh, the suspense: Will Wilbur try to put mayo on falafel, and will that be a deal breaker?

His profile pic is by Picasso.

KitKat, I had that exact thought! "Funny Valentine" should definitely be Estelle's song. Why do I think we will never get to see this guy, unlike the masking of Arthu/er with the phony photo? Just because Estelle's new guy might look like the dud from "Mystery Date", doesn't mean he still might not be a grifter. Leave it to KM to provide the wrong message from the Arthu/er debacle. His photo doesn't matter! Estelle's been yammering away about her SilverDater guy's looks all week as if the fact that he isn't dreamy means he won't shaft her..

Didn't Estelle say, oh, 100 years ago, about Arthu/e/r that he was "easy on the eyes" (on Estelle's wallet, not so much). Now "model looks" don't matter? She seems easy, is my point. If easy means stupid.
