Mary Worth 3318

Hugo, it won't be long before you've taken the long walk to oblivion, like so many other men in Dawn's life. I'm not counting, but how many boyfriends did YOU have in college?

Wanders, you have outdone yourself! Not only a walk down Dawn Weston Romantic Memory Lane, five secret messages too! I had forgotten about the late Robert Goulet’s cameo appearance as Harlan at the disco - I have no words. And “It’s okay my lovely” - !!!!!

Isn’t it astonishing that Dawn fell for Jared without seeing him paint a house?

But have you fallen deeply and madly? You two-timing tramp.

And pathetic Jared is still apologizing. What a wimp.

Nevertheless, I didn't see this coming, and I'm actually looking forward to Mary's upcoming involvement and, of course, the inevitable long-distance dump. How will Hugo react? Will he react at all?

This ought to be good (he said optimistically, knowing from sad experience that it probably won't be; but we can hope).

Wow, Dawn seems to have more romances than Zsa Zsa Gabor! She is the flightiest person ever. No wonder she's been in school for twenty years. She goes from guy to guy, just like she takes one course for years.

At least the other guys in her past were sort of good looking. Medical Assistant Jared looks like if Sterling Holloway and Harpo Marx had a baby. (My apologies for stealing this from my fellow snarkers!) He is so ugly and dorky and creepy. I hope when Dawn breaks up with him and moves onto her next victim, he seeks out Wilbur for stalking tips.

Wanders, may I suggest "The He Kissed Me" for the Charterstone jukebox?

I see Mary on the horizon, sun bonnet squarely fixed on her head, gardening shears in hand, a basket of tulips, lying in wait for the hapless Dawn.

Regina Wolfe-Parks, I’m relieved that someone else remembers Zsa Zsa Gabor (what an apt description). And Jared as the offspring of Sterling Holloway and Harpo Marx - hahahahaha! Thanks for making me laugh!

Next Dawn will get to experience the Star Wars action figure collection tour at Jared's apartment. Woo hoo! And then more bench sitting around Santa Royale.

To be fair, how many years has Dawn been in college now? 30?

I've been away for a few weeks, so I'm getting caught up. (Although I can only see the previous two week on Comics Kingdom unless I go premium. Actually, it looks like not much had been happening while I was gone–what a surprise–and I got back just in time for this highly dramatic moment. I have to say, I am surprised. I thought Dawn was going to out Jared firmly in the friend zone. Then on her next call to Hugo, he would tell her that he no longer wants to do long distance, and their amour was finis because les femmes in la France were plus belles than les femme americaine. And I'm going to say good on Dawn for going for the nice, geeky, and honestly funny-looking guy over the hunky French house-painter.

You have all been posting wonderful comments, as usual. And I appreciated the review of past Dawn relationships, some of which I missed out on. I wonder if there's a Mary Worth anthology I could get to catch up on those important past storylines.

I suddenly remembered "Mary Worth Remixed" and went to check it out. The current one is hilarious, and relevant:

I'm convinced that KM must be at least as old as Mary; possibly even older. Her photo on the official Mary Worth site appears to be a woman in her 30s but I'm not buying it. Once again, KM proves that she has no idea how a youngish person speaks. No one under 80 yrs old would say, "I've fallen for you too."

Today's (Terribly Tardy) Boldface Haiku is titled

"And They Can't Get Up".

Sorry!
No, don't...
Fallen!

I've decided that KM watched "You Got Mail" during her self imposed quarantine. Remember the scene where Meg Ryan's character tells Greg Kinnear's character that she doesn't love him and he says that he doesn't love her and all is well? I think that is where KM is going with this. Dawn will spend the next month agonizing over having to tell Hugo that she doesn't love him and when she finally does Skype with Hugo, he says he doesn't love her either and that ends it. They both were overwhelmed by the paint fumes. Now that they have had time away from each other and house painting, they realize that they weren't in love. Then one week of Mary summarizing everything for Toby and on to the next dull story.
PS: Wanders, I am in awe of your research skills! I hope you had plenty of wine or whatever is your drink of choice while looking through the files for all of Dawn's exes.
