Mary Worth 3428

Careful, Greta... don't let the door squeak... Delicious shoes are sitting right by the closet. Quiet... quiet...

It’s hard to believe, but even Mary, a.k.a. Our Lady of Perpetual Meddling, can’t be everywhere, so she’s deputized Greta to quietly bark platitudes at Madi. BTW, why does this poor pooch have to wear a bow tie 24/7?

A shoutout to Vince, who posted last evening defending Greta and rightly observing that animals too often suffer at the hands of humans. You’re right, Vince - thanks.

Looks like Madi and Greta are going to kiss and make up and be besties, because Mary said Greta has felt loss...we don't know Greta's back story, but we'll go with it because St. Mary said so. Either that or Greta's going to piddle in Madi's boots.

Awww, Greta is going to melt Madi's heart, isn't she? I hope so. There are so very very few MW plots and characters that we can develop a rooting interest in.

You go, girl! Give Madi a big ol' slobbering lick on the cheek.

You're a good girl, yes you are!

I think we all saw this coming, right? What we didn't see is that when Madi's dad returns, Madi will insist on taking Greta home with her. Greta will be thrilled to have a pink ear instead of a bow tie.

"As Madi misses her grandmother..." As if missing somebody or grieving their passing is an activity you engage in for a set amount of time, as in "As Mary mixes up a bowl of muffin batter..." or "As Toby throws out yet another burnt and ruined dessert..." or "As Dr. Jeff slinks out of yet another massage parlor, ashamed and bitter that he can't enjoy normal relations with his girlfriend of the last 'leventy-'leven years..."

Yahoonski, so true. I still miss my grandmother, and it's been over a decade. She lived 100 years, and could still crack a joke, make a fabulous lemon meringue pie, and give sage advice without muffins.

I think we're done with this story, KM. I was going to comment that Greta was only going into Madi's room to trash more clothes. Everyone got there before me. Then, because the "As Madi misses her grandmother" line totally torqued me off, I was going to write the same thing that Yahoonski did, but he did it so much better than I could have. I got nothing left.
So... can we stamp this thing "the end" and get back to Toby's dessert disaster?
Please?
