Mary Worth 395

Way to slam one of the most important and under appreciated professions in the country. It's not enough that they put up with disrespectful students, disengaged parents, unsatisfactory resources, and substandard compensation -- now they have to put up with this kind of trash talk in Mary Worth. Today, thousands of teachers will enter their classrooms knowing their students have read Mary Worth and are quietly snickering at them. Oh, wait, never mind.

Edited to add: If you haven't seen the anonymous comment in today's comment section, here it is: "Those who cannot write, pen comic strips." Oh, how I wish I'd thought of that!

Take that teachers! Wouldn't it be great if Mary, instead of trash talking the Dad and the teaching profession, grabbed Lynn by the curling stone grip on the back of her head, slung her head long across the ice and yelled "Keep THAT tite, ya big baby!"

Frank never made it past the Regionals, the most important event of them all save for another event, the US Nationals, that is of even greater importance.

Therefore to Frank, Lynn's happiness is the most important thing in the world except for another thing, his being the coach of the winner of the US Nationals.

It appears poor Lynn is aging before our very eyes, or, are we aging along with her? When did this story begin? It's all a blur...all I know, I will never be able to watch the Ice Capades ever again...

I would like to know what Karen Moy's beef with life is. She seems to have problems with everything.

And to anonymous, I think Lynn is slowly morphing into Mary. That would explain the aging. Mary must have some special power, enabling her to clone herself - eventually spreading judgment and condescension everywhere.

I love how, in today's first panel, Mary is clutching her purse for fear that an out-of-control Lynn will want to steal her money or pain medication.

I don't think I can stand another day of that Maude Findlay tunic Lynn is sporting.

I'm thinking Lynn's rapidly advancing age is due to Mary sucking the youth out of her so she can live forever.

Mary was, after all, kicked out of England way back in 1688 for "ye meddlings of great affairs, thee likes of which thee curs'd Devil haft great knowledge therin".

She landed on this great, untamed continent and noodged and wheedled her way westward, "helping" one suddenly-pox-riddled Indian tribe after another, until building the Santa Royale settlement on what was once an Incan burial ground.
