Mary Worth 2229

I like shopping almost as much as I like watching people talk about shopping.

I'd say something funny but I'm over my allowance budget for jokes.

With her "moneyed" parents, Olive should be able to afford something good! Unless she's been blowing her allowance at the ice cream shop.

The sweater on the mannequin in the first panel matches Mary's outfit perfectly. Let's go in that store and shop! Maybe it's made of cashmere, and Olive will have to work in the stock room for three years to pay it off.

This "watch" nugget explains much: Without a watch, Mary has no idea what time it is and her adventures, as well as those around her, drag on and on and on. Olive, PLEASE get Mary a watch and then she'll have SOME idea of time, thereby drawing to a close many of these drawn out and interminable episodes.

Don't forget to pick up a little something for the faithful beggar.

Well, a watch would be preferable to a couple of items in the window display yesterday. There was something like a giant eyeball and a funerary urn. Mary must have seen something she likes, since she!s hauling Olive through the door with unaccustomed energy.

Even the mannequin is trying to run away.

I've been a teacher for over 30 years, and have never, ever heard a child say that they like to practice gratitude. Olive is indeed very special. (and she says "indeed", too!)

OOPs - commented on the wrong day just above...I'll copy it over to the right day. Wish I could delete it here - is that possible?
