Mary Worth 2426

Wait, that's it? Here's a casserole, see you in a year!? Where is this headed? Please do NOT let this be a year-long story about Wilbur traveling the world in search of other people's adventures. If it is, I'll see you in a year.

Mary is clearly over Wilbur. That's as peeved as I've ever seen her. Her passive aggressive dismissal of the man is almost intoxicating. She can't believe he's too much of a wimp not to have told Dawn and Iris he's taking off. More importantly, he didn't even thank her for the tuna/turnip/graham cracker casserole. See you next year Wilbur.

Soooooo, in Worthiverse a single mother is expected to hover over her adult son, smothering him with affirmation. But a single father is free to travel the world, leaving his emotionally challenged adult daughter to struggle in college and carry on an affair with her professor.

On another note, Mary looks disturbingly like Lord Voldemort in panel two. We can only hope that she's channeling the evil one as she plots an appropriate revenge for Wilbur dumping his advice column on her!

Is this the last we'll ever see of Wilbur? Is he heading into Worthiverse oblivion, joining Adrian and Scott (remember them?).

Tomorrow, Mary launches an all-out effort to find her nose.

Or it could be a year of watching mold grow on the unwashed casserole dish - 2 panels at a time.

Yes, Yahoonski, I am wondering if she made arrangements to get her casserole dish and oven mitts back before Wilbur heads out on his adventure. She may need them during the next year.

Yes, Rosenberg, just what I was thinking. A blatant double standard. But maybe we get to watch Dawn thrash about in the meantime.

If I were Mary, I'd be demanding author credit for writing "Ask Wendy" right about now....

I miss Toby. Even if she comes with Ian. Even if she comes with little gray figurines and clown paintings. Gosh I sure hope she still has a nose.
